Average Hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: The receptionist and evening staff.
Cons: Modernise the place - a good decorating job is needed and tea/coffee facilities in the room
Location: No idea as was going to a party
Had a nice stay for one night. Receptionist every good and extremely helpful and polite. The hotel looks tired and could do with a fresh paint job and doing up. Room was okay, but silly things amiss, remote didn't work, run out of shower and not tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was ok, but if doing fresh fruit - use fresh fruit and not tinned fruit. No wifi in the rooms, which for me is a must these day. Would I stay again, probably not.

Parking problems in a huge car park!

Posted 12-May-2015 on Hotels
The Hotel had a number of functions on when we stayed which made parking very difficult even though the hotel has a big car park. Luckily we had a room at the other end of the hotel from the function suite so were not disturbed by the disco. The hotel is typical of its age ('70's) and in need of some tlc, but the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Comfortable, clean, well run Hotel.

Posted 28-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Stayed two nights in a single room April 2015, the reception area with bar and TV room were very clean and welcoming, the staff were very helpful and polite. The single room had a larger than single bed, desk, TV, with modem connection, telephone, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom on suite had toilet, sink and shower, with towels provided. The Hotel is just off the motorway, but is well outside of Reigate, vehicle or taxi needed. I was visiting family in the area, did not eat in the hotel so unable to comment.

Tired but reasonable value

Posted 28-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Great breakfast. The hotel looks tired from the outside and is only slightly better on the inside. The staff are great, though and the rooms are clean. Everything just feels in need of an upgrade. The TV didn't work properly and the WiFi was only available in reception - although there did seem to be ethernet in the rooms (didn't have my adapter with me, so couldn't test it). Very convenient for Reigate, though

Room for short stay

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: Staff helpful and pleasant
Cons: better system for ensuring correct food and beverages added to right room, would also like to sign and receive a copy of what we had to pay for.
Location: Close to M25 and Reigate. Very close to lovely walks up Reigate hill and Pilgrims way.
We came to Reigate for a family event and have stayed in the hotel before but although they were obviously trying to make improvements some things were not quite right. The choice of meals included English, Italian and Indian and what we had was satisfactory and service ok. The room was satisfactory but the bed was very hard and no spare pillows available. The room was a good temperature and easy to change if unhappy with it. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We had an error on our final bill with someone elses food and drinks added to our room but the receptionist soon sorted this out. The hotel had a disco on one night and an Elvis night on the other but this did not disturb us in our room. Although we would not recommend this to family or friends we would use this ourselves if required, as our expectations would not be high.

Too expensive for what it is

Posted 23-Mar-2015
A very old building, 30 minutes walk from the town. A terrible industrial continental breakfast for £7.50. The total with 2 breakfasts was £90. The only advantage is that it is close to the North down ways path if you like hikking. But you will have to cross a very busy road.
