Away from the madding crowd

Pros: Everything
A real find! Lovely surroundings, nicely appointed, every comfort, welcoming host - nothing is too much trouble for Tracey! The only downside (not the fault of the host) is that there is nowhere within walking distance to have a meal. That said, there are several recommended pubs within a 10 minute drive of the property.

Quiet retreat

Outstanding hosts. Tracy could not be more welcoming and accommodating. Drawback for me was that it is not convenient to walk to a pub or restaurant. As I like a pint or two and do not drive after drinking, this was a weakness. However, Oak Farm Barn offers a large and comfy sitting room for a drink "at home".

A Perfect Weekend Away

Posted 09-Oct-2015 on Hotels
I can't praise Oak Farm Barn highly enough. From the moment you step through the door, to be greeted by the ever lovely Tracey bearing tea and cake, you feel like you can really relax. In a rural village just 4 miles from Bury St Edmunds, the rooms are warm, comfortable, clean as a whistle and quirky, with everything you could need. Wi-fi is free, large hotels take note! Breakfast is so so good, quality produce, bags of choice and fresh eggs from the chickens kept in the garden. For us, this is definitely a B&B that has got it right, nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts, yet they we're never intrusive, we could come and go as we pleased. The most relaxing weekend away in a long time. We will definitely be back.

A secret gem

Posted 14-Sep-2015 on Hotels
We were overnighting for a wedding, had a pig of journey up the M£ and round the M25 so this was a welcome oasis. The room was great, large and cmfortable. Breakfast was super and the chatting with other guests they described it as a "secret gem" and I have to say I thought that summed it up. Maybe not quite so secret now but I would definitely stay there again. Amazing value too.

Lovely BnB

Posted 12-Sep-2015
Lovely comfortable room in a beautiful barn conversion. Tracey and Jack were very welcoming, and had lots of suggestions for places to visit and eat. Breakfast was one of the best we've had at a BnB. Will definitely return
