Nice hotel on the outskirts of Ipswich

Posted 18-Aug-2016
A nice pleasant stay in the Ipswich holiday inn nothing is to much trouble for the staff there, nice breakfast with a plentiful selection of cooked and cold food. Only drawback was the price of evening meals which are outrageously priced in my opinion we dined out each of our 4 nights there

Busy hotel mainly of good standard and facilities

Posted 27-Jul-2016
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. I left something behind this time and it was found and (after e-mailing the Hotel Manager) will be posted back to me.
Cons: Air-conditioning in the room appears to be "fixed" (no adjustment is possible, or so it seems) although a fan had been placed in the room.
Location: Sorry, can't evaluate this properly as on there on business, but I know that Ipswich is worth a visit and the town centre is within very few miles.
I have used the Holiday Inn, Ipswich quite a lot over the past 2-3 years on business trips. There is a large (free) car park for all visitors including disabled bays really close to the reception entrance. The staff are always helpful and friendly and ensure that you have all the information about the hotel and facilities you might need. A lovely pool complements the fitness centre which is available to guests. Breakfast (watch your booking to ensure it's included in the cost) is very good, full cooked buffet and good selection of cold foods, cereals, juices and bread products. Early starts in the morning are possible as Breakfast is served from 06:30. Wifi is available in lounge and in all rooms (free if you are a member of the priority club) and is reasonable speed.

Great staff, average hotel

Posted 11-Jul-2016
The staff at this hotel were fantastic! The room was ok, but the bathroom was extremely small and to close the door required squeezing in between the sink and toilet! Our room was not serviced which was quite annoying as we came back from a day out to an unmade bed, no clean towels or tea/coffee. The breakfast was great, dinner not so good.

Not a bad hotel close to good road links

Posted 06-Jun-2016
Pros: breakfast, pool, cleanliness
Cons: The executive rooms are no different to the normal rooms except free water, a kitkat and a different soap in the bathroom,
Location: Felixstowe beach is lovely
Originally had an adjoining room, which on hearing a baby crying all night was off putting, but reception staff were excellent at realising this was not good and changing our room for the second night, which was much better! Staff were very pleasant and helped with your needs, except the leisure club staff who barely registered you when you walked in! Good to have a pool though. Breakfasts were great! Good selection and fresh.

greta location well appointed public areas

Posted 04-May-2016 on Hotels
we were booked in for a single night as we had an appointment at a local school with my son. Weather was poor so we did venture out, fortunately hotel was showing the champions league games and had a great all round menu which made for an enjoyable evening. staff were friendly and responsive

Overall

Posted 03-May-2016
Rooms are average, very out of date decor however and some of the plug sockets didn't work. Bathroom so small you have to practically stand in the toilet to close the door. Breakfast was a complete disaster, despite going down an hour before the end, we had to wait over 20 mins for any sausage or bacon, there were no pastries or muffins left either, and once the hash browns finally came out they were frozen in the middle. Over not the best stay.
