The check in was 2,30 which the hotel stuck to so rigidly - despite the fact that some rooms must have been ready earlier - that there was a huge queue at 2.30. When we checked in and got to our room it wasn’t ready and we were told it wouldn’t be ready till 3pm. As we were going out we asked for and got another room. This seems an unnecessary waste of everyone’s time and caused dissatisfaction.
The lunch in the bar was very mediocre in terms of the food. The salad advertised as with hummus didn’t have any, the pate with ‘bloomer bread’ had sliced white, the chips were cold. The front of house staff were excellent and made up for this as best they could, but we could see we weren’t the only customers they were having to placate.
