"Beautiful courtyard to sit in the middle of Manhattan! Great views from room of NYC skyline. Staff a little short at times because seemed very busy! Only major problem was the elevators! Seems like only a few were working! Same 3 or 4 worked. And sometimes taken up my cleaning staff so you had to wait for the next one!"

"Very happy with my one night at the Lucerne. It was a last minute booking but while the rooms are definitely dated, they are charming, clean and the beds are very comfortable. My room faced north on the 9th floor and it was totally quiet. It is also a great location. Cons- hallways have an older smell, and the elevators and small and slow. No fridge in room. Pros- cleanliness, comfort and location."

"The staff stayed on top of the property and kept it clean. The location was good but away from the subway so consider that if you plan on taking the subway (you should if you are in Manhattan)."

"I made a last minute trip to NY to help family - I know the city well and went to Columbia up in Harlem so I love the area. This was a new gem of a hotel in such a convenient location. You can get to the 1, 2, 3 or the B, C, E easily and it's relatively safe. The hotel was quiet and the rooms were dark which is great for sleeping. The pool wasn't open but I wasn't there for relaxing in the hotel. The outdoor area was great (but they should definitely have bug spray because the mosquitos were on FIRE) and the staff were very friendly. 10/10 would stay again."

"The air conditioning worked very well, so the room was always cool. The bathroom for the room we stayed in had poor ventilation, and upon first time entering the bathroom it smelled of mildew. The room iself was clean upon entry, however whenever room service came it was apparent that they did not clean anything, just made the beds, this very apparent as the bathroom and bedroom tiles/floor felt grimey and did not look seeped or mopped. For the price, the location, and the amazing AC, it was a good deal. The location had amazing access to the subway, various deli's, markets and other shops. The staff was very friendly and nice to interact with! Would stay again, however, the amenities listed here absolutely do not reflect those offered at the hotel."
