Close to town centre, parking was tight but kept the car safe and away from the main road. The room was very clean, bed pillows etc really comfortable. Shower and bathroom clean. Breakfast was ok and we enjoyed our stay - thank you Tim and Kate.

Booked Virginia lodge for myself, my daughter and my mum for a short break. My daughter has a severe allergy to nuts and Tim went above and beyond to ensure there were no nuts in the dining room. This was a huge relief and made our stay perfect. He also knew my mum was elderly and suffers from dementia so kindly offered us a room on a lower floor and has even put us an extra bed in the room so we could all be together. Honestly cannot fault our stay. We will be returning to stay here again. Highly recommend. Thank you all at Virginia lodge xx

Great location with parking. Very attentive host. Sustaining and hearty breakfast. Room was a good size and was very quiet. All the amenities you would expect from a well equipped B&B.

Virginia Loge Stratford on Avon
Very pleased with accommodation bedroom and ensuite very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast as part of our stay excellent breakfast included in price. Would definitely recommend staying at Virginia Lodge and would use again. Parking also included in price.

The hotel was nice enough, the owner was very nice, the room was fairly clean not immaculate though, the pillows on the bed however was awful hence a terrible nights sleep.. breakfast was average quite a small portion… Great location.

Perfect place for a short stay. Close to centre
A lovely 2 night stay with friends. Very welcoming host who was also very helpful. Thank you Tim for your hospitality. Good breakfast, tea and coffee in rooms. Small room but very comfortable with a nice window seat, and everything we needed. Perfectly located for Stratford-upon-Avon centre.

No internet
No Internet signal at all in my room, also when I tried in the bar I couldn't obtain a signal there. I Informed reception, who put me on the telephone to Tech support, which quiet frankly was a waste of time. With them saying too many people must be on the internet !!!! End of conversation and still no internet Nice courteous staff. Very clean hotel.

I didn’t much enjoy my stay here. The television was not properly set up and the proprietor had to come the next day and tune all the channels. The property had a strong paint odour and the room had a strange odour. The room was not properly clean. They were quite stingy with the little coffee milks. That was frustrating given that I wasn’t taking the breakfast included in the price of room. Also, instead of being shown straight to my room upon arrival after a huge journey, I was kept in the hallway by the proprietor who fired lots of questions at me like an interrogation. Also, the toilet made so much noise like a roaring engine. Over £50 per night did not feel like good value for money. I had previously stayed at The Penryn Guest House, which was cheaper and so much better. Virginia Lodge was closer to work, which is why I decided to give it a shot. I regretted that and would have happily walked the extra 15 mins. I was so relieved to be out on the Friday morning.

Tim was very welcoming, and checking/out very good. The breakfast was very good, with excellent choice and service. My only criticisms were no signal to the Television, and the shaver light did not work, otherwise good comfortable stay, with good open parking.

Host Tim affably greeted me at the door, let me check in about 20 minutes earlier than the 15:00 stated time and toted my carry-on luggage to #6 on TOP floor (a huge help as the last flight of stairs are very narrow, shallow and steep). The room faced the rear garden and was indeed quiet, as requested. A small chair or stool in the room would facilitate putting one’s shoes on; full window drapery/shuttle blinds would give one a sense of privacy at night when room lights are ON or when sun light floods in. Breakfast was good. Location is terrific.

Good location and off street parking. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Only negative, and not the fault of The owners, was a group of very noisy guests in the guest house next door who we could hear through the wall laughing shouting and singing until 1:45am. Eventually I had to bang on the wall.

The good points are walking distance to centre, free parking & wirefi. The room I had was at the top up a steep flight of stairs, ok for a young nimble person but I couldn’t carry my case up or down, room needs updating and a good clean. Another plus’s is the Breakfast is good as is the coffee

Very welcoming. Given choice of rooms. Choose room 2 at front, was ok because it was cold and we had windows closed. Would've been a different story had we wanted the window open, traffic noise would be disturbing. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Pillows a bit soft. My one complaint about the room, is that when I was sat at the desk to do some writing the only light source was behind me. Meaning I cast a shadow over my work. Maybe put the shaving mirror on a bathroom shelf and place just a small lamp on desk to eliminate this issue.. Bathroom spacious and clean, soap and shower gel provided. Shelves for our items. Breakfast, was good, but not enough!!!! Wi-Fi is excellent. And parking is round the back along a small alley a couple of doors along from Virginia lodge. Virginia lodge spaces all clearly marked! Majority of attractions in Stratford within walking distance, so car stayed parked! Very nice stay and would return.

Thank you for your feedback, it enables us to improve our service to guests. we take note of the lighting over the dressing table in room 2 & will place a lamp as suggested. Sorry to read that breakfast was not enough. Our room price includes a cooked breakfast, with toast, cereals, fruit juices & coffee, it is good value compared to local Hotels charging £8- £15 per person in addition to the room, price.

Good situation in decent bed and breakfast
Very conveniently sited B and B with everything in Stratford-upon-Avon within easy reach. Room was compact but fine. Bed had a funny depression in the middle. Breakfast was well prepared but has to be ordered the day before.

After a long drive I arrived, slightly frazzled and was greeted by, what I can only assume was the owner, Tim. Who, to my surprise, was quite patronising. Perhaps this is his way, I thought perhaps I had been overly sensitive as I was so tired from my journey, but my daughter, when she met him, said he was so. Not the most auspicious of starts. The room was lovely, comfortable, though only two quite small, rough towels, no hand towel at all. The room was quite warm so that night I opened the window, because of being at the front of the property and on the main room, it was very noisy. Not helped by the rubbish and recycling collection at 6 the next morning. Breakfast was ok, quite a limited choice. I asked for poached eggs, not on the list but not an outrageous request. This was ignored. My daughter asked for a breakfast without a couple of items, that was ignored. Another guest had something missing from their request - not great. Overall I found that the guest house was ok, but certainly did not warrant the sum that I was charged. Unfortunately, I won't be staying there again.

Ideally located and to be recommended.
We were warmly welcomed, having been greeted in the handy car park at the rear. Our 4 poster room was v clean, quiet and nicely furnished, but just a little cramped. We had a lovely window seat over the garden and a shower room with gel provided. Breakfast was tasty and there were hot options available. We had booked theatre tickets and it only took about 10 mins to walk there. Overall, a pleasant stay with a charming host, and worth a return visit.

Cute spot and close to Shakespeare!
This was a lovely little place. Our room was beautiful, clean, full of light, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help when we turned up three hours early (we were just planning to leave our bags, but the room was ready!) Short walk from the train station and equally short walk from all the goodness of Stratford, this place really couldn't have been better. Super affordable! Great breakfast! Well. It could have had a fun Shakespeare-based name like so many of the neighbors, but I suppose all the good ones are already taken. Oh, and the shower was a bit small. But really, everything else was super lovely. Highly recommended!

A friendly comfortable stay
Although only staying for a couple of nights, I found Virginia Lodge to be comfortable and like a home from home. Tim's welcome was very genuine and his knowledge of the town and of past and present RSC theatre productions made for interesting conversation over breakfast. Highly recommendable.
