Great for large groups
The receptionist was very friendly lady. She was helpful and kind. The room was clean and warm but it did not have a set to serve a tea. When I realized that, I was already in my pajamas. I was distracted by a strong cleaning smell when went down for breakfast buffet. Tables and chairs (with cloth cushions) were sprayed with bleach solution. I had to put a paper on my cushion so I don’t get bleach stain on my pants because by this time all chairs were bleached due to big group just finished their breakfast. Also, I did not enjoy using their silverware. It’s the ugliest silverware I have ever eaten from. It did affect the experience of eating already not to taste food. To sum up my experience I can say that the room is good, reception service is good but the dining experience is not memorable.

Great hotel

Good stay at reasonable price
Good stay at reasonable price. Very welcoming. Car is a must as location is quite remote. Breakfast was enjoyable. Large free car park. Small room but clean and certainly good enough for a one night stay.

Solid 2 star hotel
The hotel was far for our Strasbourg visit, but since we had a car it was fine. The GPS had trouble locating it since it is really in an isolated back street and if you are arriving at night, it would be really hard to pinpoint it. No breakfast, which is not good since the area is rural and it is very hard to find a restaurant nearby. Parking is large so no worries in finding a parking spot. Room was old and needs renovation, and toilet is very small where you can barely fit. They put only two towels for a double room and amenities are only a small bar of soap. We asked the cleaning lady for extra two towels, she said ok but she didn't put any. Reception closes at 10 pm so if you arrive later, you have to use the check in machine at the entrance. This hotel is a solid 2 star hotel and doesn't deserve more. Even value for such an area and hotel is considered high.

Cheap hotel close to the airport - its no boutique but you're not paying for that, rooms basic, but TV and WiFi available. Reception very helpful in booking taxi's etc. Short walk into the nearest village for food / bars etc.

Nice comfortable no-frills hotel
Good, clean, hotel, comfortable bed, ample parking, helpful staff but wifi barely worked in the evening, as presumably too many others using it at the same time. The hotel may be a long way out from town and you can see the lights of the airport, but there are few flights so noise is not an issue and the roads to and from the hotel are excellent. Nonetheless, I would happily stay there again.

Handy stopover through France
We arrived at 6.30pm and found the hotel easily, situated in a small industrial estate attached to a village on the edge of Strasbourg. Booking in was straightforward and the receptionist welcoming. The room was perfectly adequate with a window which opened out to the car park and clean en-suite. We went for a walk and although (it was a Sunday evening) there was little open, the village is obviously a busy place with a couple of restaurants and very interesting old houses in traditional style. The bed was ok, and there was little noise so not much to keep us awake. We didn't have breakfast, preferring to travel with our own supplies, but it looked reasonable for the price. Hot drinks machine was out of order but there was a microwave. We would stay here again on our journey south.

This is a great place just to stay the night. If you want to sleep past 6, get a room on the back of the hotel, as the front side, which faces the parking lot, is very noisy early.

We stayed overnight on our way to Italy and were most impressed by the standard of the hotel for the price we paid. It was well worth paying that little bit more than a Formula 1, which is the chain we usually use, to have our own bathroom.

One Night in Strasbourg
We spent one night in Strasbourg on our way from Paris to Munich. While we weren't fans of the city itself, this hotel was exactly what we needed - inexpensive, quiet, comfortable, clean, and easy to access. Parking is plentiful in a large lot out front, and breakfast is available, though we chose to stop at a rest stop just over the German border.

Possible to get to the airport on foot within 40 min - take Entzheim road from Holtzheim centre and then walk along the railway.

This is a hotel with an economical bed and no frills breakfast. It's clean, convenient to the Airport, and staff is reasonably pleasant and helpful. It's a very good value for the money. Only problem was walls are a little thin, but since most guests appeared to be business people, they were in bed early and did not disturb us.

The reception closes at 10:00pm. I checked in after that time on 22 October 2013 using an automated check-in machine and paid by debit card for my breakfast the following morning, room tax and received my hotel and room entry card. I had pre-booked and paid for my accommodation for three nights when I was in England and had not stayed there before. The following morning I had breakfast, handed my entry card in to reception and left the hotel; I arrived back at the hotel after 10:00pm later that day and attempted to get my entry card from the automated machine as I had done the previous night. The machine did not acknowledge that I had a reservation. I gained access to the lobby by following other guests but could not use my room. THERE WAS NO EMERGENCY NUMBER TO CALL FOR HELP. Several french-speaking guests tried to help without success so I STAYED IN THE LOBBY ALL NIGHT until 6:00am when the reception staff arrived. This is totally unacceptable and other guests must know about it.

The hotel was clean and very basic. No thrills or extra services provided. We decided to keep our rental car because we needed to be able to get dinner that night and to get to the airport the next morning. Also very little English was spoken. The best feature about the hotel was that is very close to the airport.

Good for one night
I was travelling on business but went to Strasbourg a day early to do some sightseeing. The Roi Soleil was an acceptable low cost hotel for a single overnight stay but it is probably a little basic for any longer than that.
