Framtid Hostel

Framtid Hostel

8/10 Good
"The room is clean however the pillows are old and clumpy. There’s only 1 kitchen for 8 rooms. This one kitchen although clean has no pots, only pans. There’s only one sink. The guest has to wait to share the kitchen and sink. There only one shower room to be shared by 4 rooms. And the shower room was slippery."

"The staff were incredibly welcoming. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. The view of the harbor was very special, waking up to the fog and watching it burn off. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend"

Hotel Eskifjörður

Hotel Eskifjörður

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed for 3 nights. The room was clean when we arrived, but we needed to ask them during our visit to empty the tiny garbage can as they didn't clean the room during our stay. It's an older building but we'll maintained. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were in a 2nd floor room,so that meant climbing down 1 flight, through a hallway, then up 2 flights. They don't have an elevator. Breakfast was able to be purchased in the morning, but we didn't eat there."

"Al mattino si è interrotta l'elettricità e nulla funzionava più in cucina, abbiamo scritto mail allo staff ma nessuna risposta ((forse però avremmo dovuto scrivere su WA). Sarebbe utile mettere in cucina le istruzioni per come ripristinare l'elettricità in questi casi. Per il resto ottima esperienza!"

"The hotel was easy to get to and clean, there was always staff available. The lights didn’t work well in our room, the switches wouldn’t work sometimes or if they did they would shut off all the lights or one of them but it always seemed like a different light. Bathroom was nice, desk was great and so was breakfast. Would stay here again if I was planning more sightseeing in the area"

10/10 Excellent
"Location is a bit off the beaten path but if your doing the Ring Road, it might make sense. Chalet was cute with a tiny bathroom and kitchenette area was minimal but functional. The bed/bedding was super comfortable and the internet was sufficient so I could get some basic work done. Front desk guy (sorry we didn’t get his name) was eager to help with minor issues/concerns we had, which was much appreciated! He also informed us that the hot water for shower only lasts 7 minutes and takes about and hour to recharge itself, so a little planning may need to be involved if you have multiple people wanting to use the shower. All in all, a great stay!!"

It provides a quiet setting to enjoy the natural beauty of the fjord, go for walks along the coast, or simply relax. When is the best time to go to Stoðvarfjorður?
The best time to visit Stoðvarfjörður depends on whether you're hoping for warmer weather and longer days or a chance to see the Northern Lights. For those who prefer milder temperatures and want to experience the extended daylight hours, the summer months from June to August are ideal. During this period, the weather is at its most pleasant, making it superb for exploring the natural beauty of the Eastern fjords and enjoying outdoor activities like hiking. You'll have nearly 24 hours of daylight, which means more time for sightseeing and less need to rush.If seeing the Northern Lights is a priority, then the darker, colder months from September to April offer the best opportunities. While the weather can be more challenging with shorter days and potentially snow, the increased darkness significantly improves your chances of witnessing the aurora borealis.
