Reasonable hotel

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: a reasonable hotel, attractive history and well placed for local amenities.
Cons: repair potholes, provide better access to building. (some fire doors left open for fresh air and access).
Location: N/A wedding visit
PROS - comfortable room, spacious, pleasant staff, attentive. Reasonable food menus. Breakfast good choice although, if later into the last hour or so, becoming cool and dry. CONS - Potholes on approach roads, room access card failed on two occasions. Scrambled egg maker needs further instruction!

Welcoming hotel to all guests.

Felt really welcomed when we arrived, loved the area, rooms where spacious and so relaxing. Best part about it, is that bar was open 24 hour so we could even get a drink when we arrived back at 12:30am. Wish we could stay longer.

Huge bedroom, excellent value

Posted 16-Jun-2016 on Hotels
The staff were very helpful and arranged for us to have access into our room even though we had arrived before the check-in time. Staff were all very friendly - we all enjoyed out stay here. The rooms were huge and comfortable. The only downside is the decor which is very dated. Cant complain for the price!

Nice hotel, about 15 mins from Mancheste

Only had one night here while picking up my daughter from Manchester. Noisy at night due to the club on site. The plumbing was a big noisy during the night when someone used the water etc. Lovely site and hotel though.

Have been coming for a couple of years however I haven't experienced any form of upgrade in the hotel other than a new reception area to justify the price increase. The beef sandwiches at the end of the night are a real disappointment- a small sad slice of cheap meat! The age range not as varied as it used to be - the last 3 times it has been mostly youngsters plus the place hasn't been as busy. Probably won't return.

Party hotel

Posted 31-May-2016 on Hotels
We booked this hotel at the last minute because we needed to stay overnight in the area. this is the first time i have booked without reading the hotel reviews and if I had I would not have booked. Admittedly we stayed on a saturday night but this is a party hotel with an attached nightclub so i would not recommend it for a middle aged couple like ourselves. there were several things going on-wedding, stag and hen nights so there were a lot of drunken people around and a lot of noise thoughout the night both with thoughtless people running in the corridors and banging doors. We could hear someone in the next door room being sick a few times. It is a shame as the building and garden are quite nice, most of the staff were friendly, our room was clean and comfortable and both dinner and breakfast were good. But I think it was a lot to pay for our experience there. could be fine on a weeknight but check first.
