Hotel in need of clean.

Posted 21-Sep-2017
Pros: Closeness to family but will be looking for alternatives next time.
Cons: Cleanliness. Staff shortage. Ensure you are allocated room paid for.
Location: No comments.
We arrived and our booking was changed for the second time. We paid for a superior double double. We were given initially a room with single beds. We were allocated the four floor and the lift was not operating. We had luggage and two small children. After three rooms allocated we reluctantly settled for four, but it still did not have double beds so sleep was uncomfortable. Noise from room above was so bad that we had to contact reception at 4/4.20am to complain. The corriders were dirty and cobwebs were seen. The bed top covers were dirty. The cups at breakfast were dirty and although we asked for clean ones, in the end my daughter had to go to the bathroom and clean them cause they were all dirty. We were late for our family gathering which was local because it took an 1 1/2 hours to book in and get a half suitable room. Very disappointed over all. Short staffed.

Pros: It felt very upmarket - felt like we got very good value for money
Location: A really lovely place to stay in a very lovely area.
We were very pleasantly surprised at this beautiful place. It was much nicer than we were expecting and we loved our stay there.

One nights stay for son's wedding in Marple

Posted 07-Sep-2017
Pros: Early access when requested
Cons: Cleanliness - when looking for lost mobile there was considerable dust and objects under the beds !!
Requested early book-in for wedding but given double room instead of king room . Given early book-in which was more than satisfactory . Only one coffee cup in room on arrival and ended up with a mug when requestin another . On returning to hotel , tripped / fell over a step in dimly-lit corridor resulting in deep gash above eyebrow and concussion . Don't remember the nights stay as I was concussed and didn't attend hospital until the following day . Lost mobile when falling which fortunately another guest found and handed into reception when we phoned it . Very grateful to the guest for handing it in as I had dozens of wedding photos on it . Accident report filed but no contact from hotel since which I would have expected considering the circumstances . Had planned to stay again but have now changed mind .

We went for a family wedding which was amazing. Everything was perfect . Would stay again only thing I thought was the breakfast prices are very expensive but the food itself was very good .

Disappointed this time

Posted 25-Aug-2017
Stayed here a few weeks ago and it was excellent... Put me in a different room this time - terrible. Curtain lining torn, no battery cover on tv remote (dropped it twice and had to go fishing under the bed for the batteries), two light bulbs gone, cramped room (like they squeezed a double into what should have been a single), tiny t cups instead of mugs... All little things, but they add up to a low score - sorry Bredbury Hall!

Reasonably priced hotel.

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Booked a king size bed but was given a standard double. Tried to phone reception from our room but got no answer, went to reception and asked for another towel which I was promised to be sent up. It never arrived. Nice location but I only had a view of the car park and electricity pylon. Decor in the room and en-suite is tired although the Jacuzzi bath was nice.

Good solid accomodation

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: comfort, ease of access, parking and attentive staff.
Cons: Building internal decor.
Location: Easy access to Stockport and Manchester city centres. Only a short drive to the Pennines.
Although a bit tired around the edges, Bredbury Hall is probably the best hotel in the area for comfort, ease of access, parking and attentive staff. It has a terrific location by the Goyt River and adjoining countryside with Stockport town centre only a few minutes away.
