This hotel stands head and shoulders above the rest largely because of the amazing staff. They went above and beyond for us and even let us have a later check out as my partner was sick. Comfortable surrounds with a nice buzz from the theatre. Easy to get everywhere by metro or scooter. Would thoroughly recommend. Only found out later that it’s owned by Benny Andersson from ABBA

Luxury survival at the Rival!
We had a late evening flight from Dublin to Stockholm, therefore we were not checking in until after 1am. We were a bit anxious about how easy it would be to check in at that time. The night reception person was called Paul and could not have been more helpful. He gave us some great tips of advice and we went to our room. The room was a great size and we loved the decor- a concert picture of ABBA was above the bed, we knew were in a safe place. We nipped out to a nearby bar for a nightcap and went to bed around 3am. Breakfast the next morning was a brilliant affair. A range of breads, meats, fruit and cheeses, along with tea, coffee, juices and traditional cooked breakfast items and cakes meant that we ate very well. My husband is vegan and there was a specialty menu that served avocado toast, along with the fresh tomatoes, he was most content. We stayed for 3 nights and have to say that it was a wonderful experience. We shall certainly return. Stockholm and Rival hotel were a blast!

Really nice place with nice, clean rooms, and a beautiful bar and breakfast. It’s in the perfect area for walking around the city and close to transit. Just be aware the rooms are not that quiet. There was a live band playing under my room and it was super loud until about 10pm, I also woke up early to the sound of someone violently puking in a room nearby and a crying baby both mornings. My room was on the second floor with the window facing across a rooftop directly onto other apartments. Since the curtains are black out curtains, This made it impossible to get any natural light in the room without exposing my entire room. Would be nice to have some white curtains or privacy shades. Otherwise if you don’t need a super private, quiet room, it’s really amazing for the price and location. The bed and bathroom were really luxurious, super nice linens and beautiful smelling products.

The service is both friendly and helpful. The only comparison would be four seasons but that is more formal. The restaurants are way above hotel average while being reasonable cost. Laundry is reasonably priced and efficient.

This is an excellent hotel! The rooms a spacious and unique. The breakfasts are fantastic. Excellent staff helpful and responsive in all respects. Very walkable to major points of interest. Highest recommendation!

The atmosphere was wonderful, this must be the coolest hotel in Stockholm. Also happens to be in a very convenient location for walking to exciting places and is also close to the subway stops.

The area around the hotel is very, very nice. Many good restaurants close by. The subway is nearby, too. And just a short hike up the hill to see amazing views of Stockholm. The only disappointment was the construction in the park in front of the hotel (which is why four stars and not five.)

We absolutely loved Rival! Literally a gem - quiet area of the city, but very close to all main attractions - 15 min walk to the Old City, 8 min to the closest Metro Station. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. Hotel itself - extremely well maintained, spacious and clean rooms with fun decor, coffee and tea available and free on the 4th floor, incredible and the most delicious breakfast. The highest praises for the front desk staff - the best service we experienced throughout our European journey. I have to name and truly deserved- Michelle, Cecilia, Mats, Suedie- what an amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, customer oriented Team! There were others - sorry couldn’t get all the names - but equally great! We’ve got the best advises for the trips, restaurants, interesting places to visit - and always with the smile and always eager to please. Can’t thank them enough for helping to have our experience in Stockholm even more enjoyable. Huge plus that the Frond Desk is open 24/7 - and there is always somebody at the counter. Would highly highly recommend Rival as to be absolutely must stay when in Stockholm.

Loved the location...quick walk to the subway. Room was beautiful and beds very comfortable. The hallway carpeting was atrocious...deeply stained and dated. This was the only reason I couldn't give the hotel a 5 star rating.

A beautiful hotel, and a lovely part of Stockholm. The restaurants in the area are wonderful and local, and not tourist driven. The room was well appointed, housekeeping was great, the front staff at the desk was always accommodating and friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! You have to try the Swedish pancakes! Also, on the fourth floor is an espresso bar with cookies available all the time. You only negative thing we have to say is that we had to check out!

Probably one of the nicest, most hospitable places I’ve ever stayed in Europe. The rooms were great, the breakfast fantastic, the craft cocktails at the bar were spot on and the location an easy walk to everything. Staff was amazing! Got us comfortable with the city and helped with everything including having a breakfast ready to go for us along with a taxi so we could make our early flight. Michelle at the front desk was amazing, warm and welcoming. 5 stars plus! Stay here and you won’t be disappointed.

Hotel Rival exceeded all of my expectations! It is in old town, which is near so many eateries, shopping, and sites of the city. The ambience of the hotel is wonderful: imagine, jewel, tones, and gold, old world, beauty! The rooms are large and full of amenities. They even bring you sparkling water every evening to your room. The view outside the rooms is so quaint, looking right into a park where people bring their dogs and walk around, the bar area in the hotel was also amazing and we spent every night having luxury cocktails! If I’m ever in Stockholm, this is where I will stay

This is an amazing hotel, from the initial check-in process to check out. The hotel staff are wonderfully accommodating and were extremely helpful. Situated in the middle of everything, it was easy to get around the city as the nearest subway station was only 2 blocks away. We cannot recommend Hotel Rival enough.
