Pretty disappointed, I was due to arrive pretty close to late registration on the night (which is 9pm) and called the hotel 7 times between 7pm and 9pm just to let them know I may be delayed, but despite reception being open until 9pm I never got a response. When I arrived reception was closed, I had to stay with a friend on the floor of their hotel - luckily I wasn’t travelling alone. When I got in the next day I was told my booking was due to be deleted, despite the fact I hadn’t received any contact from them and couldn’t get hold of them the previous evening. When I finally looked in my room there was water all over the bathroom and the mugs for the tea hadn’t been cleaned. But the decoration of the place was really nice, it had been renovated/ redecorated recently which made the actual stay very comfortable. Breakfast was also very tasty, although perhaps a little unhygienic to allow everyone to stuff their hands into bags of bread to make their own toast. The staff were friendly enough but weren’t exactly attentive and didn’t apologise for the problems in a way which felt genuine or explained what had caused the issues.
