Beautiful Location

Posted 17-Oct-2017
Pros: Location is fantastic, the place was kept very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Its a small gripe but there were a few light bulbs that needed to be replaced throughout the property.
The overall experience at this hotel was very good. It got off to a rocky start when the room wasn't prepared as booked, with a King bed and two singles. However the staff rectified the problem immediately and gave a complimentary drink to make up for the hiccup. The rest of the stay was problem free and the staff were all very friendly. The location and views are fantastic.

Great location- split on the service & facilities

Posted 22-Sep-2017
Front desk staff were exceptional. Restaurant manager- brilliant. The rest of the staff we encountered seemed inexperienced and at times incompetent; potentially new and still in training, but still frustrating. Breakfast staff coffee making skills- horrendous. Worst coffee I've ever had in a restaurant in my life. Our dinner was decent but not excellent, and very expensive. My husband had a really disappointing massage at the spa, the pool and hot tub were not spacious or relaxing. Hotel was much more family oriented than we were expecting, I would not recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway, which is what we had planned. The room and scenery were lovely.

Nice hotel, friendly staff and nice room.

Posted 14-Sep-2017
Pros: The location. It was very quiet and relaxing.
Hotel was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. In house restaurant was closed on our arrival day. Front desk asked if we would like to book a table for bar bistro attached to spa. Looked nice but service and food fell way below standard. Free access to swimming pool sauna steam room and hot tub. This was very good. And you receive a towel on arrival. Again staff very friendly.

Doesn't deliver

Posted 11-Sep-2017
Pros: The surroundings.
Cons: The hotel should not advertise family rooms when they are not really fit for purpose.
Location: The hotel is in a stunning area of natural beauty, so the outdoor activities are limitless. If your stuck inside it's pretty bleak.
This hotel was booked as a family mini-break for myself, my husband and our four year old granddaughter. The room we were assigned was a "family room" and was nicely decorated, if not somewhat dated. However, it had large windows that looked directly over a public area, so there was no privacy. We even had the pleasure of watching another guest let her pooch take a poop right outside our window. The amenities were appalling for the lack of them. At the price paid for the room, you would expect a much higher level of room appointments. The one restaurant was fully booked, so we had to travel to a nearby town to eat. We had to request additional tea and sugar (only two wee sachets of sugar were provided) and reception seemed somewhat put out by the request. The pool is not child friendly and is in another building across the parking lot. The one thing it has going for it is it's beautiful surroundings, but I would never stay there again.

Boot camp menu for room service

Posted 08-Sep-2017 on Hotels
The hotel and setting is very peaceful. I travelled with my little dog and even she turned her nose up to the room service hot food menu, including breakfast. They truly cash in on the lovely location. A weight watchers paradise, as in portions for a flea, unless you are prepared to travel a short distance by car, or taxi, to see main meal bigger than a saucer. Boot camp for travellers, unless you can enter the main non dog friendly restaurant. A concentration camp style menu for room service. The chef. needs a serious wake up call. Stale, brick hard food. Flea size snacks.
