nice hotel with great views

Hotel was lovely with very friendly staff. I thought the drinks were over priced and some of the food too.

Staff are terrible. Restaurant is understaffed. Room service does not arrive after 3 attempts. Overpriced poor quality. Captive to the hotel as nothing around for 5 miles.

Secluded hotel with wonderful scenery

The hotel is in an amazing setting and is a four star. The staff are always friendly but would have hoped for a little entertainment through the festive period. Everywhere is clean and reasonably up to date. We have only ever stayed one day and I’m the winter it would be hard to envisage staying any longer as other than the leisure facilities and a walk it is limited. Overall a nice night away with my wife and two girls.

Overall a disappointment

Posted 28-Dec-2017 on Hotels
The trip started so well; great location and a light dusting of snow to add to the effect. thereafter followed a catalogue of poor, limited choice and overpriced food, bathroom floods through light fittings with no change of room overnight, problems with incorrect food bills overpriced drink, a brutally honest temporary chef and a bad taste in the mouth. The food is pub grub at beat with 4* prices despite the best efforts of a willing temporary chef. the already limited menu was further restricted by no deliveries and substandard ingredients (chef's words). the leak happened on Wed evening and was a known problem. Hotel couldn't provide a move to another room and we therefore had to use the bathroom facilities including showering by the light of a mobile phone. A £6.00 bottle of Bulletin white Zinfandel costs £24.00 in one bar but the same bottle of wine costs £29.00 when ordered in the restaurant. Despite raising all these reasonable concerns with the Manager who offered a discount of £25 (on a total spend of £450) and a free night B & B (politely declined).

Great couple of days away in an amazing location. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Only thing I would say is double check your bill if you eat at the restaurant as they tried to over charge us but it was sorted out quickly and with an apology.

Faultless!!!! A colleague and I were working in the area, but as soon as we arrived it felt as though we were on holiday!! Reception staff and the breakfast room attendant couldn't have done more for us, so polite, kind and friendly. Even locating us a spare phone charger and the gentlemen at breakfast even helped me get a great photo ...... the views at breakfast were absolutely spectacular!!! The hotel was very peaceful and I left feeling happy a refreshed. Lovely breakfast buffet, comfortable beds. Even the complimentary soup in the bathrooms was luxurious lavender scented. I would100% recommend this hotel as a business stop over, trip with friends/family and especially as a romantic break away. I will be returning!! No doubt about that.

Really lovely hotel, great for getting away. Not a great deal to do December around the local area and zero phone reception but great if you need an escape. Loved the food

Stunning Location

Stunning location and lovely hotel with great facilities. Room very spacious and comfortable - apart from the bed! Hubby had an awful night - me not so much so, mattress/bed problems rolling to the centre. Real shame but hopefully an isolated incident as we would like to visit the area again.

Beautiful Location

Posted 17-Oct-2017
Pros: Location is fantastic, the place was kept very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Its a small gripe but there were a few light bulbs that needed to be replaced throughout the property.
The overall experience at this hotel was very good. It got off to a rocky start when the room wasn't prepared as booked, with a King bed and two singles. However the staff rectified the problem immediately and gave a complimentary drink to make up for the hiccup. The rest of the stay was problem free and the staff were all very friendly. The location and views are fantastic.
