Very comfortable stay

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Pros: All new and clean fixtures and fittings and staff all very professional and welcoming.
Cons: Only two little things made it not quite perfect - the air conditioning/heating did wake me in the night and the toilet seat was rather wobbly.
Location: I stayed at Stirling to go to a business meeting in Sauchie the next day so I didn't really check out the area or things to do.
The Hotel was one of the cheapest on offer in the area, but the standard was very high.

Warm Welcome!

Posted 07-Dec-2015
I've never reviewed a hotel strictly on the front desk staff, but really, the two that greeted us after midnight when we arrived really made our trip. We received an extremely warm welcome from Andrew and Debbie (?) who were really friendly and kind. We were tired from our long journey and were cheered by their demeanor and friendly conversation. I happened to mention when carrying in the bags that I was gluten free and Andrew made sure that there was some bread defrosted for me in the morning. Debbie offered us some complimentary snacks, which was a really nice treat and overnight they slipped some coloring pages under the door for our young son. It was a really nice welcome to Stirling and our week long trip to Scotland. Getting to the hotel and parking were both easy. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the room was in partially renovated. The beds were comfortable.

Great hotel, only thing a bit strange was the heating system which usually blew hot air! Hotel was about 10 minutes on outskirts of Stirling near an industrial estate and bus service, park and ride, stopped at tea time. Taxi was £5-£6 into town centre. Could have walked but it was wet when i were there. Hot chocolate from machine was good. Staff very friendly. Well priced.

Pleasing Rooms, A bit out of the way

Posted 27-Oct-2015
Pros: The staff made our stay great, good value for money.
Cons: The pull out beds need to be replaced - although they are doing a refit so this may be happening.
Location: There is a great pub next door with good food and value for money. You cannot walk to town, not sure on buses, close to Wallace Monument.
We enjoyed our stay at the HI in Stirling. We ended up staying an extra night. We had a car, which was good because this hotel is a bit out of the way for anyone who doesn't have one. The food was good, staff were wonderful, and the bed comfortable. We have 2 kids, so we used the fold out couch which was not comfortable. Great view of the Wallace Monument, which is spectacular.
