We came to breakfast at 9am. While the eggs were cooked to order the bacon and sausage were were tough and dry while the mushrooms were barely warm.Very disappointing. Sevice was good and the cold buffet looked as though it would have been a better choice.
We loved our stay at this hotel and only wish we had booked a longer stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the room large. The breakfast was of good quality and well served with good size portions. We have already talked about a stay here again.
I’m not sure that this hotel warrants 5 stars. It is a little strange waking straight into the reception with the bar and restaurant all open plan. Couldnt fault the staff, especially at breakfast. The room itself was okay, no view out the window. Reading other reviews I was concerned about the noise ...
Hotel undergoing refurbishment. Our room was very tired but warm, clean and cheap. The newly refurbed bar and restaurant were very nice. Breakfast was brilliant. Staff outstanding.
Very nice stay! The room was comfortable, spacious, and well very classy. The staff was also very helpful. As for the breakfast, it was delicious, and there was plenty even for those with a bigger appetite. Maybe 10 minutes away from town center and 15 from castle. Would definitely recommend!
Scotland is well known for its unique culture and history, and those planning their itineraries for a trip to Scotland should be sure to reserve a hotel in the city of Stirling, which is considered the country’s “heritage capital”. Stirling has the finest concentration of historic buildings in Scotland, capped by its stunning Stirling Castle, which dates from the early 12th Century and has played a major role in events such as the Wars of Scottish Independence.
The nearby town of Falkirk is another important historical area, and its most notable attractions are the ruins of the Roman Empire’s Antonine Wall, which marked their northern border. Other sites include the contemporary Falkirk Wheel, an impressive feat of engineering, and the imposing 15th century fortress, Blackness Castle.
Anyone wanting to experience a truly cultural visit to Scotland should be sure to book their stay at one of the country’s historic hotels, where they will be able to live amongst some of the country’s artefacts.
