"Good location, could use a better shower"
Nice hotel, comfortable bed, but the pillows sucked. The location is excellent, particularly for taking the backwalk along the old town wall to get to the castle. The shower was functional, but never got above lukewarm.

"Beautiful grand hotel"
The hotel is very dramatic on top of a hill on the edge of the centre. Hilton quality beds. Slept like a baby. The staff were wonderful. Friendly without being overly intrusive. They matched a web rate when we decided to extend our stay which I obviously appreciated. Pool, sauna, steam room very enjoyable after a long day of driving. We used it the facilities every day of our stay. The breakfast buffet felt a bit like a tourist class hotel in Spain (I hate fried eggs warmed under heat lamps) but it actually was quite nice if you looked past the presentation. We had a truly wonderful evening meal there. The lamb rump was the best I've had in years. The weather was rather dire on the first night but the cocktail bar was lively and well attended. You can have a good time without having to venture into town. Even though the hotel was very busy you could nip off and find a quiet corner in the various lounges as well. Really a wonderful 3 nights there and I would happily visit again.

"Visiting home again."
Staff were excellent, breakfast delicious. Room plumbing not very good. WiFi was abysmal. I have always loved the Golden Lion in years past when I lived in the area, but it is now in need of considerable renovation. We were on an upper floor not very convenient for hauling heavy suitcases. The one elevator just is not enough, perhaps an outside elevator or ?.

"wonderful find in Grangemouth"
We booked this place sight unseen around 7pm through Expedia and were very happy to find a clean, roomy space with everything working and in great condition. We had a hard time getting the card key to work and so the lovely desk attendant came over in person (different building) to ensure that we could master the entrance! Quiet night, even though there was a wedding reception next door. Beds were comfortable, bathroom new and lovely. Breakfast buffet was ample, hot and delicious. Tea server made sure we had everything we needed. Check out was a breeze

"Great location for Loch Lomond"
Great hotel with lots of character set on the green in the middle of a quiet village. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable and meals were good. Great location for Loch Lomond. Will stay here again.
