We walked a couple of blocks to a nice pub. Our host offered her umbrella as it was raining. Very friendly.

"Good Hotel, Good Location."
We stayed in Room 2, at the back of the hotel. Nice room, large bathroom, shower only no bath. Decor good, beds okay. TV in room, not brilliant only a few channel's. We felt breakfast was a little early and would prefer it available up until 9am. Also your sat with other guests on our large table....found that a little odd, having not done that before. Lady who owns hotel was friendly.

"Perfect overnight stay"
Lovely wee B&B. Manager was welcoming, friendly and went out of the way to make sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. Helpfully recommended good places to eat in town and directions (5 mins walk) and provided an excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Could not recommend enough and would definitely stay again!

After the long wait at the front desk when we arrived everything else was fine. Several steps to negotiate to end hotel and parking was limited. Breakfast was great! Very good service there.

"Great location in the hills near Edinburgh."
We had a pleasant stay at the farm. The people were welcoming and it was lovely to find a solid stone traditional farm in the hills. It wasn't easy to find but worth the journey. The position means easy access to Edinburgh, Stirling and Falkirk. There are many cats and a friendly dog that we enjoyed seeing and playing with. The cooked breakfast was fantastic and just what you might imagine on a farm. The only down side was the décor was quite dated.

Scotland provides visitors to the United Kingdom with a wonderful opportunity to discover a range of stunning historical sites and natural wonders; from its iconic castles like Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle, which crown these two wonderous cities, to remote geological structures like the towering cliffs of Cape Wrath or Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK.

Those planning a visit to Scotland will not want to miss the chance to visit the city of Stirling and the town of Falkirk, two important historical sites. Stirling was home to over 300 years of Scottish monarchs, a past that can still be seen in its stately architecture and sites such as the National Wallace Monument, and the Bannockburn Heritage Centre, both paying homage to fighters in the Wars of Scottish Independence.
