Whole experience

Posted 24-Aug-2015
The whole experience was terrible. Told rm 306 turned out to be rm3 paper thin walls so could here neighbour so no sleep. The room was smelly like damp it was disgusting. Paid for a double bed got two singles put together with a double matteres on top. Will never go back or recommend a lot of money for what you got as nothing like what it is made out to be

Just a hotel - Needing work

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing comes to mind.
Cons: Rooms, walking path, etc. need to be updated. More character is needed along with activities.
Location: There was not much.
Although there is a castle on the grounds you can't tour it. There is no real history either that is easily found. Additionally, there are no gardens or real walk for someone to do. It is really is designed as well as a hotel. We had dinner and breakfast at the location, and the food was okay. It is a very rushed atmosphere though, very similar to most casual themed dining in the States. Turn the table as fast as possible for the next lot. The staff ranged as well from snobby to distracted. There were only two employees that I noticed actually had a pleasant attitude. Overall, this property is really designed as a business meeting location, although there are no real activities, or as a wedding location. I wouldn't recommend the location to anyone unless they simply want to tick a box that they stayed around a castle.

A great stay in a lovely hotel

Posted 06-Jul-2012
Pros: Food
Cons: None
Location: In a nice residential area convenient for Falkirk
Surpised at how big the room was. The food was quite superb and the welcome by the staff was nice. I would certainly want to take my family go a stay

Pros: The wedding meal was excellent
Cons: Poor service and shabby decor.

It was OK. Disaapointed we didnt get a room in the Castle.

Location was good. Service was fair. They didn't go out of their way to do anything extra. When we asked to use the business center they said they would be right over to open it but did not come. When we did get a key we still couldn't get in and never did.

This hotel met my expectations, easily found and a good location for East-Central Scotland.

Drab and plain

Posted 21-Mar-2007
We were very excited to saty in a real castle. The building is impressive. The room was a nice sized mini-suite, but the walls were plain white with no pictures. The interior was in the middle of a new paint job throughout, which was badly needed. All available amenities are at the hotel, which is a short walk from the castle. The castle bar is only used for private parties, so do not expect to relax down there. Walking through the halls was a neat experience, as they wind up and down. The hotel pool was great, as was dinner. All in all, there are better castles to experience. Unfortunatley, many are seasonal, so we had to settle for Airth this time.
