"Excellent small hotel nr Trossachs&Loch Lomond "
An excellent small hotel in a rather grand Victorian house on the main road in Callendar. Easy walk into town. Great base for exploring the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Stunning scenery. Recommend going to Lock Katrine, it is beautiful. Loch Lomond was best on its east side, the west side is nearest Glasgow and attracts a lot of people in the summer. The nearby waterfall is worth the walk. The couple who run the hotel are friendly and helpful, and put on the best breakfast we has in a 1000 mile tour. Everything has been thought out, and they have obviously gone to a lot of effort to make the hotel as good as it can possibly be. Highly recommended.

"Perfect place to rest your head"
After a starting our motorbike trip to the highlands we decided to book into a hotel at Stirling, having stayed in one of the other hotels on site I decided to give this one a go and was not disappointed. Very good value, rooms were very basic but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything you could want really! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was excellent and the quality of the food in the restaurant looked great. Only gripe was the price of the beer. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area on a budget. Its a 40 minute walk into Stirling or theres loads of busses and you can even have use of the fitness facilities. Will stay here again.

"Nice hotel in a quiet village"
Stayed for one night for easier traveling to a wedding in Fintry. The hotel itself is very easy to find although I first drove into the main car park and couldn't find a space and there was no signage to let me know there was an overspill car park up at the leisure centre. I eventually managed to spot more spaces upon driving back onto the main road. The check-in staff member was friendly and the room was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. We went down for dinner at the time booked, the earliest time we could get to give us time to get to the wedding. The dining area was still being set-up however we were quickly seated and given menus but the wine menu was forgotten so we had to ask for that (they finished setting up the other tables including wine menus). Given that we were first in the restaurant and ordered one course within a few minutes we assumed it wouldn't take long. However it did take about 40 mins & we ended up rushing our food so as not to miss our transport. The staff in the dining area were ok but a bit aloof apart from one girl who made the effort to chat and be a bit more personable. The bread rolls offered looked nice but were actually cold & a bit hard. The actual meal was really nice though, duck leg confit and steak pie! The breakfast was good as well! Never had enough time to check out the area or the pool area but I would like to go back to the hotel and explore the area again

"disappointment "
we have stayed in this hotel on a few occassions it breaks the journey from dundee to cairndow, when i went to visit my cousin, our last trip was booked for novemer, but tragically my cousin was killed in an road traffic accident, when i rang up to cancel the room, the receptionist was so matter of fact, no feelings whatsoever, i did not expect a refund, but it would be nice if you could maybe train your staff to be a bit more sympathetic, i have taken a while to answer this e mail, as i have been dealing with my grief, but i felt i should point this out to you, as i said we have stayed in your hotel a few times, and have always had a great time.
