I was very surprised to show up in mid November and find no blanket on the bed. The bed was nicely made, and all tucked in, but with only sheets! Not even a bedspread. I located the "spare" blanket in the closet and did OK for the night. The next morning I mentioned the lack of bedding to the front desk attendant and was met with a blank response. Clearly I was the only one of the two of us who expected a blanket to come with the bed. I was kindly offered another one, but how very strange! I've been to Maui in August and found blankets to be a standard part of hotel bedding. The blanket dearth was exacerbated by the fact that the room heater didn't work. I had it cranked up to 85 degrees and it only blew cold air.The room was warmer with the unit shut off. Once again, friendly staff said they'd have it looked at in the morning, but as I was checking out, it made no difference.

Great price for a very comfortable and clean room. Love the free wifi and the wifi was impressive for a hotel. The staff was great and went above and beyond. They were vey helpful, and provided my sister with a toothbrush since she forgot one. The free hotel breakfast was the best I've had compared to similar hotels.

Was booked on the 5th floor, which seemed to be under some amount of construction or repair. Door was somewhat loose so movement outside in the hall or nearby doors opening and closing caused the door to rattle. The room was rather small and cramped with little room for movement, especially when trying to sit at the desk. There were several flies that we could not rid ourselves of.
Room was not as clean as I would have liked when checking in. Upon pulling the sheets back to turn in on the first night, there was debris of some sort under the covers. Bathroom was not stocked with soap, so had to call down to request it to be brought up, which took quite a while.
I was in town for the NYC Marathon and I asked for a wakeup call the morning of the race, which I did not receive. Luckily, I was awake regardless, but this could have been an issue if I were depending solely on the wakeup call.
My return flight home was an evening flight and I had a car service scheduled for afternoon pickup. Hotel was flexible with my checkout time to accommodate this. Additionally, they stored my luggage after checkout to allow me to dine across the street while awaiting my transportation to the airport.
Stayed here for four nights while visiting NYC. Could not have been happier with the large room, nice facilities but especially the great staff. Everything we asked for i.e. maps, directions, etc. was promptly supplied and they were happy to help! Think this is the first time we have stayed at a Hampton and it sure will not be our last. Thanks

The room was comfortable, the staff was excellent, the morning breakfast was very good, and the free shuttle to/from the Statin Island Ferry made our trip one to remember. Planning on going back in the spring.

Great place to stay, very clean and spacious rooms. Host is the best, especially at breakfast.
Area not the most affluent but the owner has not had a problem for 30 years, not to many places to eat, ideal place to stay if you have a car, other wise your on the bus.
This small island feels more suburban than the rest of New York City’s boroughs. Getting to Staten Island is easy – just take the free ferry from Lower Manhattan for this 25-minute crossing. Top sights include the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, Historic Richmond Town (a Colonial Williamsburg-like living history museum), Snug Harbor Cultural Center, and the Staten Island Zoo.
