Really good stay. Staff were excellent and good fun. They sorted the allocation of an extra room at short notice to solve a family issue. Highly recommended with sincere thanks.

Really pleasant and comfortable hotel, with a very good restaurant. Would like a fridge in the room and a reading light - hard to read a paper. I never have breakfast - so the “free” breakfast is wasted on me!

Nice location, very rural. The room has seen better days, in need of decorating, carpets worn etc but everything you need. The pub is also nice, the food was very good, although they seemed to be short staffed. Nice place just needs decorating....

Lovely hotel, I've now used them 4 times when travelling to this area, comfortable rooms, lovely country pub attached with good food and friendly service.

Breakfast was outstanding.
We stayed but I had a very disturbed nights sleep with the guest next door who at 11:23 pm phoned an ex and started a drunken rant for 30 minutes. The call ended as abruptly as it started. 40 minutes later my sleep was broken again with the sound of next door calling for 'huey'! ' after that between his ear shattering snoring I hardly had any sleep. The bathroom needs the sealant replacing with clean sealant and the one currently was black with mold. The accommodation has lots of contractors staying, not knocking it as it is value for money. However I would stay again because the breakfast was out of this world. Perfect in every way as was the service.

Middle of the road
Nice enough place but nothing special. The rooms are a little jaded especially the en suite. The shower is powerful but the hose from the tap to shower head was leaking water. However, the toiletries looked nice. Carpets in the hallways are needing a little tidying up where they join. The key fobs are enormous and make it difficult to lock and unlock the doors without disturbing adjoining rooms due to the noise of them rattling when turning the key. It was quite a humid and warm evening but no air conditioning and it was a duvet/downie on the bed with no top sheet which meant I was either too hot or too cold. I would have preferred a sheet and roll the duvet back I didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast, which is cooked to order, was excellent. Easy parking and nice staff. This is the worst kind of review as it isn't glowing and it isn't particularly negative but it wasn't a particularly positive or negative experience.

I was greeted warmly and efficiently! The room was spacious, very well appointed and quiet. The bed was really comfortable and there was a great walk in shower. The breakfast was fab! Great coffee and great service. Really super value for money!

Absolutely above and beyond service from Tom. I phoned ahead because I was going to be late and miss check in, he said he would leave my room key somewhere for me. When I eventually got there he was waiting for me in the bar and said 'if I'd had that journey, I'd have wanted a beer too'. What a man! That's truly beyond the call of duty! Thank you again! The room itself was lovely, comfortable and warm despite it being -3 outside and the shower was great which is always important to me in hotel. If I'm in the area I'll be back for sure!

Friendly and relaxing environment, also do gluten free options. Excellent breakfast set me up for the day ! I paid £70 and feel it was fantastic value , easy parking also , will stay again .

The booking in process is very confusing after 4pm (I believe, as I arrived late evening). There is reception that has a person who only deals with weddings, and therefore has to tell the guest to leave the building and find the bar to speak to someone who can check you in and give you the room key. You then walk back past this initial person to get to your room. So very confusing and bizarre. Rooms are very comfortable, however the other rooms upstairs sound like they are in the room with you. Luckily the people above me went to bed and shut up around midnight. The food and bar in the evening is really good and the staff there are also nice. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, with more nice people. So all in all, a good stay, apart from the evening checking in shenanigans.

Getting a bit tired
Rooms are clean and comfortable enough but are getting a bit tired. Time for a refurb! The food in the bar next door is expensive and the steak that I had was very poorly cooked and tasteless. Breakfast also not great. I've stayed a few times over the years but I think I'll look elsewhere next time.

The was nobody on reception when we checkin, had to do this on bar. Then had to find our own way to rooms. Problem with shower and once again nobody on reception to report this to. Appreciate it was quiet but need people around to talk to.
