Nice stay at Dolmen hotel

Posted 19-Jul-2017
A lovely hotel. Although having read reviews about buildings work. This seemed to have been completed in main hotel. So no issues there. Nice pools to stay cool in. Food was great, lots of choice to suit everyone. Only slight quibble is there was no kettle in junior suite to make tea or coffee.

Not a 4star!

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Only 1 set of lifts to get to the entire hotel. Poor layout and floor plan.
Location: Great location.
The pool area was over crowded, definitely not a 4star hotel. Staff were pleasant. Was a problem with the hotel water. No water in the taps / showers/toilet at times during the day.

Great location in MALTA.

Posted 09-Jul-2017
Pros: Recent upgrade makes this a must stay hotel.
Cons: There are rooms which are not up to the recent standards so be careful where you get allocated your room.
Location: Centre of Bugibba where all the shops, bars and restaurants are located. Casino on site also.
Recent upgrade has made this a top resort in MALTA. Excellent facilities and dining opportunities.

Hundred's of ants in room.

Posted 07-Jul-2017
Pros: The indoor swimming pool and spa.
Cons: The rooms . Ants . There attitude
Location: The location was fine.
Having arrived there and being told Expedia had ruined my booking and put me on a b&b basis. And paying more than the All inclusive rate. They did not care. And we had a poor night sleep and woke up covered in ants. We were moved to another room that smelt awful and was mold on walls. The hotel facilities were not as advertised there was no nightclub/ disco. The gym consisted of just a cycling machine and running machine very poor. The breakfast was average but boring and the same thing everyday. The entertainment was awful it would be alright if you were over 65.

Great hotel.

Cracking hotel. But on our final day we couldn't get a late check out and had to use the showers in the Spa. The staff at the Spa frowned upon us asking to use a couple of towels.we were quite shocked at there attitude.

This is not a 4 star hotel!!!

Posted 06-Jun-2017
I was allocated a room with no zircon facility even though it was advertised and sold to me with this facility, then I hot allocated another that did not have a working mini bar (no drinks in mini bar either) eventually got one put in from another room that didn't work properly. I also fell and injured myself on the stairs as the cleaning lady 'forgot' to put the appropriate sign of caution for visibility.

Not worth it-noisy building & lacks any warmth

Posted 16-Apr-2017 on Hotels
I don't like to leave a bad review (this is the first time I've booked a bad hotel on this site) but I have to be honest. The whole experience was disappointing as the hotel is still being renovated. It's noisy, with gaps in walls and work being done all around. The room was okay as it had been renovated and was very clean, but it was very stark. We upgraded to a suite so that we'd have two rooms. The room booking promised a living area and there was none, just two rooms with beds and nothing else. The bathroom was tiny, balcony large but not inviting (a plastic table & chairs). The reception area and bar is quite 'soul less'. Breakfast was good, although very busy as its a huge hotel. For what we paid this hotel was definitely not worth it! It may be better when renovations are finished, but there was still a lot to do, so I assume they'll run to end of 2017.

Average hotel

Posted 12-Apr-2017
Pros: -
Cons: Sheets need to be changed almost everyday.
Location: Location was ok but vey far from airport.
I booked a room for six night for three people, garden view. They gave me a very small room that third bed squeezed hardly in the room and located at the bottom of two other beds, something similar that one or two-star hotels usually do. And instead of having view to garden or water, my room had a view to a lump of soil. They changed my room in the last day when their hotel was empty. Maybe they don't care about customers who book through Expedia !?
