The perfect place for a stop over

Posted 07-Aug-2015
Pros: The staff and location. The food was fantastic and the service first class. There was also a high degree of privacy, which was appreciated.
Cons: The corridors seemed 'creaky' as guests walked along, but this is the only fault.
The hotel is very clean, the staff so helpful and pleasant. It was, for us ideally situated to break our journey.

Relaxing, friendly and enjoyable

Posted 06-Aug-2015
Pros: Pool and leisure facilities were very good - gym excellent too.
Cons: Better drinking water facilities on poolside - water fountain not really usable.
Location: Location is quiet - but half an hour from Plymouth (in the traffic) - so nothing really close by
Lovely room overlooking the golf course, with a balcony which was great for early morning drinks. Ate at the restaurant one evening which was excellent food and good value for money. Would definately stay again and hope to soon!

Nice quite resort hotel.

Posted 18-Jul-2015
Pros: The atomosphere was friendly.
Cons: I am a bit fussy about cleaning, in that context the bathroom could be cleaner.
Location: The highlight for us was Land's End visit over an hour drive.
Two good restaurants with quality food. Good handicap facilities. Good parking area. We enjoyed gulf grounds view.

When we arrived at the hotel we were given keys to a lodge which was a bit strange as we had booked a room in a 4 star hotel,we took a drive to the lodge to find it was a self catering apartment that dated back to the 70's , I have seen better at holiday parks . I had been a bit under the weather so it was a treat so was really upset at what we had been given . I went back to reception and said we were not happy with the lodge as it was not what we had booked , as the hotel was fully booked they staff said there was nothing they could do. I then went back to my partner in tears , so he decided the best thing was to either get our money back or just ask to book later in the year as we only live an hours drive away. The staff said we could do nether as we had booked with Expedia. We were just about to leave when we got a call to say there had been a cancelation and they now had a room in the hotel. We were given a nice room but the evening had been spoiled but all the upset earlier

Pros: Bright & clean
Location: Location to the pretty town of Saltash
The resort and accommodation was very nice although we have stayed at just as nice a hotel for a better price. We feel that the resort was to expensive and they were trying to be better than they really are. Especially the meals. In other words over rated

Nice swimming pool , but busy

Posted 05-Jun-2015
Pros: Just the room comfort and size of pool
Cons: Staff . Training and helpfulness overall attitude
The rooms were great . Clean and comfortable . The concierge on chech in mix informed us of pool times . Waited over twenty minutes after ordering drink , had to chase, no apology Dinner came without the stated tomatoes , when questioned they did offer to replace but we did t bother as food had already been eaten

We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. both meals were excellent. We had a "light bite" as our main and it was bigger than we expected, a lovely surprise! Hotel facilities were excellent we used the gym and the pool. Very pleasant stay.

Only one negative.....

Fantastic hotel, great golf course, services in room brilliant. However the only reason for 4 stars is the food menu at the hotel very poor for variety.

This is a travel lodge, not a four star resort

Posted 24-Apr-2015 on Hotels
I was hesitating to book this hotel after reading the reviews here on hotels.com, but thought we would give it a chance. The reception desk was friendly and nice, however told us the wrong opening times of the pool and therefore we were unable to go swimming. They asked if we wanted to dine in their restaurant four times. The entrance of the hotel is not very nice considering it is supposed to be a four star hotel. We were put in a very dirty room far down the corridor with outdated and dirty carpets. There was dust absolutely everywhere in our room; On the TV, on the night tables, on the bed frame and on the desk. The furnitures were outdated, very uncomfortable and not very clean. The bed was far from being comfy and was really hard. The internet was extremely slow. In the past reviews I've seen the manager telling ex customers that they are working on this, which they are obviously not. Small parts of the bathroom such as the toilet roll holder was falling apart. I would just say avoid this hotel OR do not expect a four star resort. This hotel is very far from delivering what you would expect at a four star hotel. It reminded me more of a travel lodge than a resort. They project themselves as a four start resort, yet are extremely far from reaching even 3 starts. Cheap travel lodge? Yes. Four star resort? No.
