We spent a week here over New Years weekend. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay again. I’d just budget more for a higher end hotel. You truly do get what you pay for in St. Lucia, there are no bargains. I read some reviews and they mentioned that not all rooms have AC. So, I called hotels.com and confirmed that the room I was booking had AC. Unfortunately, our room did not have AC. I don’t think the correct information is being given to third party booking sights. I didn’t make a stink, thinking that we would be fine, it’s the Caribbean right? At least it’s not -6 like a at home. Well, it might have been fine except there are a few drawbacks to not having windows that close. MOSQUITOS!! I was eaten alive. (My boyfriend however was untouched). If you are a magnet for mosquitos, this isn’t the place for you.
Also, Soufriere is LOUD on holiday weekends. The street party 1/4 mile away sounded like it was on our balcony. The sound of the waves and tree frogs are soothing but when overpowered by the music, it would have been nice to shut a window. It didn’t stop until 2:30 AM. Smoking Neighbors. Need I say more?
We also had a slight issue with no towels being provided upon arrival and a broken toilet. Those were minor inconveniences and were remedied quickly, but still not something you want on a relaxing vacation. Other than that, the staff was nice enough, breakfasts were ok and the pool is refreshing. I just think they need to be more honest about which rooms have AC. I feel dupped.
