They had maintenance issues. We had to go to Motel 6 and redroof paid for it. But then Motel 6 had issues getting us a room to. Door keys failed for 24 hours!!

You might be tempted...
It can be tempting to save a little cash and bargain hunt, but save yourself the grief and find a better (if pricier) hotel. After a long road trip, I pulled up to the hotel at 11:00 PM. The first warning sign was a front entrance that required me to be “buzzed in” by someone working the desk. Once I got inside, I was assailed by the smell of marijuana and cigarette smoke. The service was slow (but courteous), and I eventually got my room key. On my way to the room, I noticed that giant rolled up tarps took up nearly every free space in the hotel and that a number of children were roaming freely (and loudly) throughout the establishment. Odd, but I proceeded. I got to my room and unlocked it, and I was met with horror. The room stank of unwashed bodies and more smoke. The bed was made but had an odd, lint-like residue all over it. The walls were paper thin, and I could hear everything (including the incessant herd of children) through the entire night. Perhaps the worst thing about the room was the lingering stench on the pillows. They smelled like a moldering gym bag. In short, the room was awful. Equally awful was the location. After drifting off to sleep, I heard loud verbal altercations in the parking lot and genuinely feared that I was in a location where violence could break out. In total, I got three hours of sleep. After trying in vain, I got up at 5:30 AM, showered (the shower was fine), and checked out—even though I had the room booked for two more days.

get what you pay for
the hotel overall appearance was nothing fancy , cheap price so it was really run down looking. The walls were paper thin, we were on the 1st floor and above us was a bunch of kids that were constantly running back and forth all day and all night the entire time we were in the room. The hotel staff weren't very friendly made me feel like checking in and asking for extra linens was an inconvenience.The side security doors didn't lock. The room air/heat unit didn't work properly

The hallway smelled like weedbeing smoked and cigarette smoke. I had a non smoking room. The bed was clean but the carpet in the hallway looked old and dingy. They should not advertise breakfast because it was just cereal and bread and coffe NOT even juice. The service was fine and employees were nice but the hotel could use updates.

Clean and decently priced
The stay was very comfortable and easy to find. No many options for their continental breakfast but was good nonetheless. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a clean place to stay at a decent price.

We come up for the annual car show every year at Gateway. I do place my reservation online, but with a simple phone call the staff takes care of me making sure I have the rooms I want and understand our needs of being able to see our vehicles.

The first clue that we should have gone somewhere else was the manager drinking beer behind the counter when we checked in. The whole place reeks of smoke. Thank goodness we were just looking for a place to sleep and didn't bring in all our luggage. The hallway smells of smoke and the room we were in was really bad. The no smoking sign on our door with the broken bolt was a joke.

It's like a smokers hotel
In the same floor are alternate smokers and no smokers rooms, I put a wet towel in the floor at the door so we can sleep. The matress conditions are terrible

Surprised! Great stay! Tv was outdated but next month it's getting flat screen tv's. Service was excellent and very clean. Would not hesitate to stay when in the st.Louis area again. Inexpensive and just as good as a super 8 , etc

Hotel needs a full renovation, cleaning not enough
Upon enter the was an overwhelming stench of smoke and a smell that it had not been cleaned for a long time. Noticed ashes on the stairs going up to the second floor. They were never cleaned off in the three day period of time we stayed. The hallway was no different totally unkept. The room was about as basic as any one star hotel. Upon entering the room you tell that it had not been used recently because it smelled very musty. After turning on the A/C some of the musty smell left, but the stench from the hall would then seep in through the door. We had to buy two different types of fresheners to combat the terrible odor. The breakfast was very subpar. The host tried to keep that area clean, but it was hard to eat when the smell from smoking and other stenches were too overbearing. Would never recommend this hotel anyone and would discourage anyone from using it. Worst hotel experience ever.

Great Time with Friends
We book this hotel every year for our event. We bring a lot of cars for the car show at Gateway. No trouble at all "loittering" in the lot. I wouldn't say that it is the fanciest hotel ever, but if youre looking for a clean bed to sleep in, a place to take a nice warm shower, and a quick complimentay breakfast, this is the place. Staff is awesome, and we have had no trouble the past two years. Looking forward to the next year.

We book this hotel every year for our event. Weed Smell in the Halls
The rooms were clean but the fleece blanket and couch were stained. The halls were clean but always smelt like weed and somewhat dark. The whole hotel should be non smoking. The owner sprayed freshener each morning. Those who smoke can go outside.

I will sleep in the car before staying here again. Trash in the parking lot and hallways, screaming and yelling across the hall, kicking on doors. The front desk attendant was oblivious to it all even though it was just down the hallway from him. The police where finally called in @1:30 AM and the trouble makers left.

The smokey smell was overwhelming. There were cigarette burns and nicotine stains everywhere. Our walls had freshly patched holes. Dogs barked throughout the night from inside the hotel, and sketchy people camped out in the lobby. Overall, gross. We paid too much for how gross it was. Would NOT recommend this place!
