Beautiful property, trail out back leads down the valley to a small park with waterfalls and ponds. Food was high quality. Room was clean and in good condition.

Excellent stay
Excellent stay over 4 nights. Breakfast was excellent, we didn't eat in the evenings at the hotel so cannot comment on evening meals, although over guests eat there and the restaurant was very busy, so it seems to be very popular. Room was rather small but adequate, and was very clean. The hotel's location was ideal for visiting the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, which were both about a 20 minute drive away.

So friendly and welcoming
The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We got there early in the pouring rain and they let us in rather than make us wait. The food was delicious with huge portions. Our dog was made welcome and had plenty of fuss and the hotels dog Kernow was beautiful too. Our room was a little small but that is what we had booked so was down to us. Yes we would definately return, it was central to loads of things to do and beaches and the other guests staying there were chatty and friendly. Lovely stay.....thank you.

Best Place to Stay in Cornwall
We had our annual two week holiday here and we really couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Cornwall is a lush green county and this was the rose in the crown. The staff treated us like family, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was clean and fresh, refreshed daily. The food was excellent with generous helpings. And the gardens, well you didn’t need to spend money and go to The Lost Gardens of Heligen these have been lovingly restored by the owners over the last 17 years and you can see they are their passion.

A Cozy Surprise
What a wonderful “find.” Tucked away off a busy road, inside was quiet and peaceful. Lovely lounge and bar. The sun room and outside decks were delightful. The gardens and waterfalls magical. Meals very delicious and rooms comfy. Try it!!!

The best B&B in Cornwall
So if you’re reading this review you’re probably considering staying at the Waterwheel. My advice … stop reading this review and just book it now. If you want to read more though, read on. The Waterwheel is probably my favourite B&B I have ever stayed in. It’s Gorgeous inside, the staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, and the garden is a tranquil and relaxing haven. I was somewhat sceptical that it would be with a busy (by Cornwall standards) road next to the Inn but it never bothered me or my fiancé once. The rooms are spotless clean, the showers are powerful and refreshing and the breakfast is wonderful. It’s location is a great point to explore Cornwall from and I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who. A massive thank you to the Waterwheel team for their hospitality over the last three nights, especially Donna, who really made us feel at home.

Owners and staff couldnt do enough. The breakfast and meals in the restaurant were above and beyond the normal expected. I would recommend this property to everyone. We booked a twin room and it was downstairs. If you have reduced mobility .There are steps down to the reception but if you ask there is an alternate entrance.

A sociable hotel which is dog friendly
Fantastic stay. The hotel is well maintained with friendly staff and amazing food. It is the ideal location to visit multiple places in Cornwall. I am not a dog lover but the hotel had a resident dog and a few visiting dogs all well behaved. The dogs added to the environment and really got people talking. I would highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay, the location was very convenient for Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, we didn't eat in the restaurant but the cooked breakfasts were ample and delicious. The hotel's garden is quite beautiful, with lush plants and in June there was also a bank of wild foxgloves. The only drawback for us was It was on a busy road into St Austell and the traffic was quite noisy at times (we always take earplugs), plus could hear music in the mornings, at first thought it was noisy neighbours then realised it was coming up through the floor from the kitchen/bar area below!
