"The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bar and pool areas were nice but the terrace was closed to all guests, there was no restaurant for dinner and unfortunately the location of the hotel was not really within a comfortable walking distance of anything of interest. The hotel design, on the outside, could be described as nautical deco and a wonderful piece of preserved old Floridian architecture! It is worth a stay just to experience that history. However, on the inside it is a want-to-be funky space, that when it had been redecorated sometime in the past, I am sure it was amazing, but now anything that once made it comfortable, homey, and welcoming seems to be long gone. Such as the over-sized pots throughout the entrance and lobby that once held beautiful tropical plants are now empty and collecting dust and the faux boxwood wall coverings that are now dull and old or the outdated lighting fixtures all help to make the space feel a little sad and does not reflect the beautiful architecture of the outside of the building. On my day of check-out I was surprised to find that there was no staff in the building that could check me out. So all and all some disappointments."

"The property was in a great location. It is a beautiful home and the grounds are very nice. The pool was very nice as well. We had a couple of maintenance issues while there but nothing terrible, master bedroom AC didn't work (luckily the weather wasn't too hot), TV in main room didn't work, Keurig didn't work. But overall it was great and the hosts were very friendly. "

"This quaint retreat was just what I was looking for to celebrate our 31st anniversary. It was clean, was a great location, and contained all the features of home. The outdoor private pool was crystal clear and refreshing with an amazing view (please note that the pool IS shared with other rental units). The overview deck was amazing aswell. The host communicated well and responded quickly. Best of all the bed was super clean and comfortable. I wanted to give the property 5 stars however we didn’t like that it had a damp feel and smell downstairs due to the a/c wall unit. It was kinda overwhelming but not something we felt the host could immediately remedy. Our recommendation to the host, install a dehumidifier, service the a/c unit with Ozium or HVAC deodorizer and maybe run an Ozone generator. We would definitely book again if the dampness/smell issue was resolved."
