Arrive as a guest but leave as a friend
James and Margaret are outstanding hosts. They are helpful and gracious. We stayed in a twin room on the main floor with an ensuite. The room was warm, bright and cheerful with all the amenities. Breakfast was served in a dining room/lounge with a warm fire and included a Scottish breakfast, porridge and/or continental breakfast. Food was wonderful. We will visit again!

Lovely place to stay in St. Andrews
William and Margaret welcomed us into their cozy home which is perfectly located near the heart of St. Andrews. We parked in the driveway, but parking is available nearby on the street. The house is loaded with golf memorabilia-much appreciated especially by my son. The room was small, but had everything you would need. Breakfast was delicious. I much recommend Braeside House for your stay in St. Andrews.

The owners were very kind but we felt the price was a little high for what you get. Maybe it’s because it’s in St. Andrews ? Not sure i can say i would recommend it but other people staying seem to enjoy it. Check out is at 10:00am sharp!

Wonderful find!!!
Wonderful find! Great location, warm hospitality, and comfortable, cozy rooms. We will definitely be staying again anytime we come to St. Andrews to visit our daughter, who is studying there.

Bedrooms on second floor require climbing a steep and narrow set of winding stairs. (There is only one bedroom on the first floor.) In the U.S. these stairs would be a code violation, and are a safety hazard. Bathroom was spotless but the worst shower ever. Too small for the folding shower door and low water pressure. The owners are very nice, but these accommodations are overpriced.
