overpriced for quality of hotel
Hotel location and view are fantastic. Nice pool. Extremely disappointed with standard of cleanliness. Bedding was old and stained, definitely not premium. Towels were worn out. Bathroom not properly cleaned. Overall, property could do with a big spring clean and refresh. Not worth asking price compared to other hotels.

This hotel is in an amazing spot beautiful beach ,great restaurants close by No atmosphere at the hotel hardly any one there Couldn’t believe we had to wait 2 hours to only be allowed to check in at 2pm this place was empty Plus another couple had to do the same Owners English absolutely no engagement with customers and obviously no idea how to run a hotel !! I would definitely go again be stay at a different hotel

The beach is very nice and clean, hotel is serving us the whispering as the meaning of there hotel name it is very nice to hear.

Close to the rough beach dangerous Nothing close by Food was very average with off season menu. No TV Balcony doors wouldn't open and close properly. Wouldn't stay again.

A mixed bag.
There are many things to commend this hotel - it’s lovely pool, the beachfront location, the very good food at reasonable prices, comfortable room( although the shower was pathetic). However there was an atmosphere in the place that made me feel uncomfortable. The staff did not seem happy, there was a lot of standing around looking under occupied and at times almost hostile. As the end of our stay approached there was quite a shameless push from some staff to make themselves known to us, shake our hands and wish us well. Whispering Palms did not feel like a happy place to work and I can only speculate that this is a management issue.

Small beachfront hotel with great hotel restaurant and excellent Italian restaurant next door. All rooms sea view I would request a top floor even though no lift 3 floors are manageable and best view.

Great hideout by the ocean
The place was great.. It had spacious rooms each with a beautiful view of the Ocean. You could sit in the balcony and just enjoy the ocean. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. The staff would help you make your own arrangements for trips to Galle or Mirissa or watersports centre.

Great hotel
Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are spacious with great balconies and pool and sea views. Breakfast was great and the restaurant is reasonably priced. The staff are helpful and very friendly. There are other hotels nearby and an Italian restaurant next door so there are options for other places to eat but not much in the area otherwise.

An ideal stay on the beachside. Nice swimming pool. Not a fancy place, but neat for a beach property. Very polite and helpful staff. There's a "hotel dog," a puppy around which is fine for us as dog people although he became a little intrusive. Otherwise, nice place for a beach getaway if you want to be away from the bustle of Colombo. Restaurant served a good Sri Lankan breakfast (if you want that, notify 24h ahead, otherwise Western breakfast, both prepared fresh). A bar is there too.

The best view right on the beach
Having not been to Sri Lanka before we was apprehensive, however although the room is basic, it was large and clean, tea and coffee, the view is priceless absolutely amazing. We are not keen on spicy food so was worried about the food, the breakfast is lovely fresh fruit and a large selection, we had half board massive selection really good food, cannot fault the place, will definitely come back.

Brilliant setting, great staff and food
All the rooms face onto a lovely, and relatively quiet, beach: with decent balconies overseeing the sea. Hotel owned by a British couple and they, and their staff, could not have been more supportive. The chef served some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka, and they had a band playing one night... Several other restaurants on the beach, but you'll need a tuktuk to go get other options. The only minor criticism is that the rooms are fairly basic...this said, the bed was huge and comfortable!

Lovely hotel on the beach in Induruwa
Excellent hotel - great location and very good cuisine in the restaurant attached to the hotel. The view from the balcony is splendid . Every room has an ocean facing balcony and there are only 15 or 18 rooms. Nice clean pool right next to the beach as well. Breakfast was included and it was not a buffet , it was ordered a la carte and delicious . Dinner at the restaurant was reasonably priced and delicious as well. We had an Airconditioning failure on the first night, which could have been potentially disastrous. However it was fixed that same night. WiFi was fairly weak and there's no TV in the rooms (a good thing) but really , if you're not going to this hotel to unplug and get away , you're here for the wrong reasons :)

Just so relaxing
From the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed and chillled. David the owner explained we could pretty much eat where and when we wanted . We wouldn’t normally eat in our hotel but the food was very good with an excellent choice so we are there many times during our eight night stay. The hotel sits on a beautiful quiet beach although the sea is quite rough at times. If you want relaxation with friendly staff and good food this would be an ideal choice. Al the staff were very good and Sunni especially looked after us very well during our stay

Great hotel right on the beach
Excellent hotel and seemingly a far higher standing than its 3 star rating. Newly constructed, large rooms, all having a large balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. A very neatly kept property with great service and a good served breakfast. The restaurant is in a nice semi-outdoor setting and outlook to the sea front. Although somewhat remote along the stretch of hotels on the beach road, there is a lovely small family run restaurant, a short walk off the beach, called Bamboo Shoot.

Good all-round
The hotel has a great location overlooking the sea. The room was large with a large bathroom. The staff are helpful. The hotel's best feature is the restaurant, which had a varied menu. The food was good quality. You would need to get a taxi to anywhere in the area, but this is very cheap. You could easily spend several days relaxing here without leaving the hotel. The pool is also great. The hotel seems reasonably well maintained.

Perfect beachside resort hotel with great food
Great room with loads of space and balcony looking straight onto pool and beach. Spent two enjoyable nights here and ate in the restaurant both times. Outstanding choice on the menu, very reasonable prices and excellent food, some of the best we had anywhere in Sri Lanka. Really got the impression that the chef here is a cut above the average.

Loved this hotel - fabulous view over the sea, watched the sun setting every evening from our balcony. Pool lovely and clean, breakfast served to us at our table over looking the beach. Nothing not to like!

Goed hotel, goede rustige locatie. We werden ziek van de eerste lunch, maar het hotel keek er niet erg van op. We hebben niet het idee gekregen dat ze het erg voor ons vonden. Helaas stond deze lunch ook nog op de rekening en heb ik ook geen reactie mogen ontvangen over de officiële klacht die ik heb gemaakt. De keuken is niet best. Toch zou ik het hotel aanraden.

9 amazing nights at the Whispering Palms. The straff were polite and vert helpful. The place was clean and well organized. The kitchen had a great chef, he made the most delisious meals! It is very quiet and not much to do, but We did find the place very comfy! Looking forward visiting Whispering Palms again. Greetings to Sunil, who kept the Beach clean for plastic.

Guter Service mit fehlendem Gespür für kleines
Schönes Hotel mit toller lage zum Meer. Allerdings fehlt es an den Kleinigkeiten. Die Balkontüre geht nur mit gewalt, die badetücher sind voller fäsen ind die Bettlaken haben Flecken. Das Personal ist super, auch ein später Check-out war möglich.

Decent hotel
We stayed few nights in Whispering Palms hotel on our way back from Ella to Colombo. Despite being the rainy monsoon season on the West / South West coast, we had excellent weather. The sea is very rough though in this season and was very tricky to get in. Luckily the hotel has a nice swimming pool right on the beach, with plenty of sun loungers around it. When we were in hotel, it was very quite, due to low season (monsoon). Has the advantage that breakfast every morning was cooked fresh to our liking. Rooms in hotel are ok, a bit limited in decoration, and looks rather basic. Beds are comfortable and bathroom is large and decent, good rain shower. When staying in Bentota area one has to realize that all hotels are in a long strip and along a road in one line. So if you want to go somewhere, best is to take a tuk tuk to Aluthgama, where you have more like a little town with shops and so on. There are restaurants alongside the main road, it is just a very busy road and not really nice to walk along.

Tolles Hotel zum Entspannen
Tolles Hotel zum Entspannen. Das kleine inhabergeführte Hotel ist ein wunderbarer Ort um Auszuspannen. Tolle kleine Anlage, sehr guter Service und ein gutes Restaurant (Frühstück sehr lecker, viel Auswahl beim Abendessen zu relativ normalen Preisen). Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und haben ein schönes Badezimmer und eine gemütliche Terrasse.

Anlage ist gepflegt und sauber. Die Zimmer sind groß, sauber und haben alle Meerblick. Die Angestellten sind nicht sehr freundlich, und wie landestypisch, lächeln sie gerne Anliegen einfach weg. Das Wlan an öffentlichen Plätzen funktioniert selten- das im Zimmer optimal. Pool und Strand werden ebenfalls rein gehalten und gepflegt. Essen war hervorragend- Getränkepreise exkl. Steuern angeführt- etwas ärgerlich beim Check out!
