The property is a bit dated. The carpets in the hallway, the flooring in the room and bathroom was a bit shabby. I honestly feel the property could use some renovation. The tase of the food is quite average. On a positive note, the views from the room are quite breathtaking.

A wonderful place to spend Christmas, great amenities. Just be mindful if you book a mountain view room - some rooms have trees and contruction that completely block the view.

Loved the servers at the restaurant specially Dilshan who would go an extra mile to help guests. I wouldn't give much for the front office and the service desk. When we were leaving, we had to call in two different times to ask them to send someone to bring our bags down. Both times they failed us. After waiting for almost half an hour, we decided to bring our bags all the way down from the 5th floor.

NOT a 5 star hotel. 3 star more like.
Check-in was slow, and no welcome drinks (unusual for a "5 star" holiday resort). Receptionist (a young guy) offered to take us to the room, but walked very slowly. As soon I got to the room, I saw plenty of mosquitoes and little insects on the white wall, I probably killed 20-25 of them using tissues before the bell boy had delivered the suitcases. Tiny bottles of unbranded shampoo and shower gel, barely enough for one wash for one person, we called to ask for some more, but never arrived. Glad we got spares in our wash bags. Sleep was ok (I did kill dozens of mosquitoes after all). Breakfast was not great, lack of choices and poor quality. Not a five star hotel. Wouldn't recommend.

Earl’s Regency - two nights in Kandy
The service provided by the staff was second to none. I want to especially mention Gayan at the lounge, one of the loveliest and friendliest people we have met, he gave us the best and most personalized service. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, it is like being in a movie! Great views, clean, comfortable and the staff is super!

JUST BOOK DONT THINK!!
This hotel was amazing, we ended up leaving from another hotel even before checking in due to the staff being so unprofessional and mind you that was also a 5 star rated hotel in the area. Earls was amazing, the lobby manager walked us personally to the room showed us around the hotel and every-time he would see us would walk up and asked if we were happy with our stay. It was truly a pleasure staying at this place, plus their internet speed was really good. Something we look for while traveling.

Lovely hotel with smiley staff and amazing food. Facilties are good and location is good but you will need to get a tuk tuk into Kandy. Standards in the hotel are high.As somebody who has worked in food mangament I was very impressed with nightly buffet.Shame oir trip was cut very short by corona virus.

Beautiful hotel, big and spacious with a wonderful dining room overlooking the hills with plenty of outdoor space. Lovely pool set in a natural shape to avoid the rocks nearby!

Nice hotel just useless staff
Room good, food good but a lot of the staff were useless. Often saw many staff members just standing around chatting when guests needed assistance. 3 guys outside the hotel just standing around, not helping guests in and out of cars. I saw 2 bellboys just sitting down chatting watching on as an old couple struggled with their luggage. I tried to check out and had to wait 5 minutes for 1 guy to finish on the phone - absolutely fine were it not for the 6 staff members next to him just standing around chatting too busy to help me. Also, they don't have a pay out service which is inconvenient for business travel when I don't have cash. A couple of the staff members were great though.

I wouldn't say it's a 5* hotel, as the rooms are a bit tired, however, it's an amazing value for the price. Very good breakfast as well. If it rains, there is not much you can do around or in the hotel.

Nice river and city views. Very noisy party going on under our room in courtyard. Called down to front desk and was told it had already been brought to the duty managers attention and would stop immediately. An hour later still loud music from the party was still going. Had to call again to be told it would be shut down in another half hour. Was not offered any competition or sympathy?

Good stay at Earl's Regency.
Overall the stay was very good at Earl's Regency, however it is undeniable that the hotel needs a refurbishment and is very dated. The restaurant and food is what made the stay even better for us, it was some of the best food that we had in Sri Lanka which is really impressive as it was a buffet. The man who worked in the hotel shop was a little bit pushy and asked repeatedly if we would visit the store which was quite annoying. Overall the staff were good.
