A stunning property seated atop a mountain overlooking the Rhine Valley. We'd seen this hotel several times on our visits upon the mountain and decided to spend a night on our most recent trip to Germany.

Most remarkable hotel !
Most remarkable hotel I ever stayed in ! Cause is highly unlikely to sleep in the midle of the winter in a Deluxe grand room (350€) in a 5 star hotel (who granted them ?) without heating (not bad heating but total lack of heating). And even more remarkable with the hotel manager’s complete knowledge of the situation!!! Would I recommend it ? With certainty and with all my heart…but only on the first of April.

Not a great 5 Star Hotel (during COVID)
Nice hotel but during COVID pandemic they are not up to speed what you would normally expect from a 5 Star Hotel. Order room service (since restaurants are closed - which is COVID related and nothing they can do about) but the soup arrived cold and the club sandwich was ok but not especial and the Schnitzel was below average but I was hungry so did eat it. Again no problem but not what you expect from 5 Star Hotel. We where only 5 hotel guests in total and asked for a room with a view - that request was denied... ??? They also managed to mess up my bill so I paid the room service of another person (did not check at checkout since the amount was more or less what I consumed so I guess all was good...) Breakfast was very slow but good. I can understand why the hotel is cutting on staff ect... but then I would rather close it (like many other 5 Star Hotels did) and not run a poorly managed 5 Star hotel since I will never come back here since it was not worth the money and the management did not make any effort to make our stay better (room with a view) or great room service food... Again I am sure this is a great hotel normally but right now they are not making the best out of this situation...

Great hotel stay overall, minor changes needed
Amazing hotel overall. Beautifully renovated. Great views. Service could be better. Main issue that NEEDS to be addressed: hotel guests should be able to access the hotel late at night with their room card and not by tracking down someone at the reception to let them in! (Especially since the reception bell outside the main entrance was not working!)

****S - good hotel with good service level
Hotel is great, staff friendly. Some smaller remarks like pool area is quite small and could be maintained better, no extra mile in customer service but all in all a good experience and we’ll be back for sure.

Amazing stay
Our room wasn’t ready until 40 minutes after check-in, but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend staying here! Be sure to check out the gorgeous view of the town and river. We will be back!

Definitely a Grand Hotel.
This hotel certainly lives up to the title grand hotel. Its beautiful and the rooms re nice but the view to wake up to is amazing. The grounds are lovely for an early morning stroll. If your looking for a centre of town hotel this isn’t the one, but if your looking for somewhere special to stay this is for you. Oh and the views at dinner are special. As a side not, the wifi was reliable and strong. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in this area.

Beautiful location, stunning views
The Steigenberger Grand Hotel Petersberg was everything we hoped for and more. It was the venue for a wedding we had travelled from Australia to attend and our stay at the hotel was for five days of relaxing and unwinding in the middle of a whirlwind tour of Europe. The standard double room I was in was beautifully appointed with a marble bathroom with bathtub and numerous other features. The other room our group had, while still very nice, by comparison looked as though it could be due for an update. The staff were sensational - very friendly and helpful. The bar was a great place to spend an evening and the bar food was very good. The restaurant and cafe bistro are also just as you would hope and expect. The breakfast buffet was one of our favourite aspects of our stay...champagne breakfast...need I say more? The hotel is located outside of Bonn so if you don't have a car getting away can be painful but we jumped in a cab to explore the city...Beethoven's house was a special and unique experience. All in all, we loved our stay at the Steigenberger!

Outstanding hotel, but needs improvement
The restaurant food was superb! The best meal I have ever eaten. However the towels in the bathroom were very thin and there was no bath, which I expected from such a quality hotel. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, which was a shame. I had also requested a double bed, but were given 2 singles pushed together which I wasn't impressed with. Overall the hotel is top notch, but the lack of these basic comforts pulled it down in our estimation

Views to die for
A brief night's stay wasn't enough to fully enjoy the location but the views from the terrace restaurant were absolutely stunning. We skipped breakfast as after having dined quite late we didn't think we would do justice to it at 26 Euros per head !! Just a little bit pricey perhaps.

Beautiful Hotel- Some Service Issues
Lovely hotel in a very unique setting high above the Rhine with spectacular views. Room was very good size, very clean, modern but classy. Overall the hotel is expensive but you expect that given the location and quality. We enjoyed our stay but would mention three issue points: 1) The hotel is quite isolated but on arrival we could not get booked for dinner. This was a major shock. However, eventually we were offered a table at a time which was suitable. Dinner was very good. 2) If the restaurant is full you cannot eat in the hotel Bistro as this closes at 6.30 pm. This seems silly and I would have thought the bistro could be used for simpler meals/young families.3) There had been a little morning rain although by the afternoon it was a lovely warm sunny day. We asked for tea on the Bistro terrace to enjoy the wonderful view but were told this was not possible as the terrace was closed by management order due to the wet. This was ridiculous as it was now very warm and dry and if a guest asks for tea on the terrace then that's what they should get. Management should address. However, in overall terms a very nice stay.

winter wedding
The hotel is located at a beautiful location on top of a private hill and has an English speaking staff. My only concern was the renovation they were doing left a smell of paint everywhere. The restaurant had a great menu though we did not try it out and breakfast was found in a neighboring town bakery thanks to the hotels 26 euro a person price.
