Great stay good nights sleep.
Had a great stay in a very warm and clean room. Not a complaint but a previous guest has sadly decided to place a hot iron on the carpet and scorch it.. Didnt effect my stay but sad to see. The only slight issue I had was the wifi kept dropping out and being unavailable. There was no EE signal in my room so infairness it was quiet, peaceful and allowed me to finish my book. Bar service and evening meal was great breakfast spot on. Would stay again maybe with a Jane Austin Novel next time

Really nice place to stay.. after a nightmare trying to find the place (roadworks problem not the hotel itself) I was welcomed with a big smile from Ruth.. she was a massive help throughout out my whole trip! Would definitely stay again

Great value. Clean and Tidy
Clean and tidy room, good size. Food was very good, burger was HUGE, breakfast was tasty. Very good value. Will definitely be back.

It served a purpose but felt a little disappointed
TBH I was working with a tight budget to find accommodation near enough to Fareham. I have previously stayed at this hotel a number of years ago so I was aware of what to expect. Check-in was friendly and smooth. I was allocated a twin lodge which is at the back of the main car park, I knew that I had booked a twin room (it was cheaper than a double) but the bed was small and I didn't have a good nights sleep (next time I would pay the extra) The room was clean but very basic, disappointing but it served the purpose of my trip except for not sleeping well. I used the hotel bar in the evening to do some work and have a drink, the girl behind the bar was very polite and friendly however, the bar / restaurant it's self lacked any atmosphere. Maybe some background music would help? It would of also been nice if the football was shown on the TV in the bar which was switched off. The tables in the bar area were set up for larger groups (6-8) of which there were only 2, as a solo traveller this meant that I had to take up a table in the restaurant which as I wasn't eating wasn't ideal. Would I stay again? Yes if the price reflects the standard of accommodation but would definitely go for a double room. The double room takes the cost into competition with many other hotels which would probably have better facilities, particularly in the bar area.

Great location and staff, shame about the hotel
This hotel has unfortunately seen better days. The decor is tired, the staff are tired and we checked out tired after being woken by the fire alarm. We used the hotel as a base for Goodwood Revival as did a number of others who were visiting. It was not all bad - the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were however run off their feet. They had not only a full hotel but a wedding on the Saturday to deal with and from what I could tell there were only three members of staff serving on. Our room was upstairs in the annex. It was clean but basic. The lighting is inadequate and there is neither a telephone (which would have been handy to call reception - more later) or air conditioning. We stayed during the early September heatwave of 2023 and it was 30 degrees outside and 35 indoors. There was no fan in the room. The toilet didn’t flush. It was reported but not fixed. To use the shower over the bath you need to be a contortionist if you’re over four foot tall as the bath is in the eaves. What they were thinking when the other end of what was a 18 foot long bathroom was unimpeded by the ceiling I have no idea. The food in the restaurant was good. The drinks the usual expensive fare - £22 for two g&t’s. The crowning glory was to be woken up at 7.30am on the Sunday morning by the fire alarm. I got dressed and went to reception to find out if the fire brigade were on the way and we were going to be evacuated. I was told that we were not - it was a false alarm!

We are so sorry about the fire alarm. Due to there sensitivity we find that people having showers with the bathroom door open is enough to set them off, that is also the case with spray deodorants.Due to it being a busy weekend and a couple of staff off sick it was busy for the staff who were left. We are glad to hear that the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Nice room needs updating water in the sink would not spray in when the plug on in Room and bathroom needs updating the quilt on the bed was a winter room woke up to hot need a light summer quilt,very quite room and could care out side

Pleasant stay.
A nice hotel, with very friendly staff. Our accommodation was situated in a block outside of main hotel. Room and bathroom was large and clean. Tea / coffee making available in room, along with ironing board and iron. Nice comfy bed. Large bar / dining / seating area in main hotel. Good food, although not a large menu served for dinner. Excellent breakfast. Outside there is a large car park. Although there is a main road passing the hotel, there is very little noise. Good value for money.

We should have known from the dirty entrance door, what faced us inside. Our bathroom had mould around the shower area and a split bath panel, the room had a large carpet stain. Our friends room had similar problems in the bathroom and a very lumpy bed. Having said that the staff were fantastic and the food good. Such a pity that the owners didn't share those standards.

Nice friendly budget hotel. Could do with a few refinements and updates. Very freindly and helpful staff. Good basic pub style food. We had a small double room which was all we needed bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a bit dated however clean so ok. Maybe hotel could have sone water in the room and sone biscuits maybe with the tea and coffee.

Goodwood FoS stopover

We do apologise about the fire alarm. As it was steam from the shower and deodorant we did need to let it disperse for 10 minutes to make sure it did not set the alarm off again.

Great hotel, although very remote. Nice room, comfy bed and fluffy towels. 2 hangers in wardrobe, need more as we stayed 3 nights.Food very good standard, Janet worked so hard to please everyone. Restaurant & bar closed 4pm Sunday, nothing around, had to drive 7 miles for dinner, not ideal. Wine on 1st night limited, offered either Chardonnay (1 bottle left) or 1/2 bottle sauvingnon blanc, that's all!! Not good for a bank holiday weekend. But will definitely go back!

Horrible night’s sleep
Our room was not in the main building but rather in what looked like a beach hut. The walls were paper thin so we could heard every cough, sneeze and conversation which made for a horrible night’s sleep. When asked how our room was the next morning, I explained about the noise. I was told that I should have asked for a room in the main building! How was I supposed to know that the room that I was given was so unacceptable? I would never go back to that hotel.
