We stayed one very pleasant night at the Seacrest and it lived up to its billing as one of the top hotels in Southsea. The staff were very welcoming and the room was clean, nicely presented with all the facilities we could ask for. Breakfast was very tasty and there was a comprehensive selection with good vegetarian options. Will definitely return!

First initial impression was the friendly owner who introduced us to the area, the building, rooms, etc. She made us feel right at home and was very welcoming. We were given the opportunity to ask questions etc. Free wifi was nice. We booked incredibly last minute and were happy that it was not a problem. Cheap and cheerful if you are needing somewhere to sleep in the Portsmouth and Southsea area!

Nice hotel, excellent staff, good food the only thing we would fault was being woken up a few times from people upstairs and the noise from the restaurant as we were on the first floor, also people shouting in the street.
This is a very British hotel, different from the big chains that dominate in the States. The rooms are fairly small but not cramped, individual rather than mass-produced. You'll likely have to climb some stairs, and the layout of the place is quirky. But with all that in mind, it's very well-done. My room was very clean, the bed was decent. There was a fan in the room and no AC, but the windows open and this is the UK, not Florida, so there's seldom a need for AC. The Wi-Fi in my room was excellent and free, fast enough to run Netflix.
The staff can be a bit harried, but they are attentive and helpful. The restaurant has a small menu but outperforms - I had excellent scallops, a nice cod, a decent piece of lamb, interesting and delicious desserts. There's a small, friendly bar area and a bit of garden.
