Simple and well-designed, with many delightful moments. Garden bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower; all living spaces on the ground floor; the second-floor and attic bedrooms (3 total) share one bathroom. Decks, wood-burning hot tub, BBQs, lawn, fruit trees on property; swimmable lake, café, restaurants, church, and trails in town. We love our East Hill Road. You can walk (10 min.) to a nearby well-maintained lake in a state park. You can drive (10 min.) to an exceptional cafe that offers amazing pastries and a casual menu. There are three other restaurants within a 10-minute drive that offer a range of fine dining from classic to world cuisine and experimental. If you are coming to New Marlborough, you probably already know what the Southern Berkshire has to offer. Great Barrington and Stockbridge are 30 minutes drive away. Jacobs Pillow and Tanglewood are 40 minutes drive away. MaSS MoCA and the Clark Institute are within a 1-hour drive. There are numerous trails, lakes, waterfalls, and state parks to explore with breathtaking beauty all year round. Very glad Jing (the host) and her family are sharing this jewel of a home with the rest of us. Jing was a quick, kind and cordial communicator. The house location was quiet and tranquil. Stayed 4 nights in Aug 2025 ### 4/10 Poor #### Michael V. 14 Oct 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, location Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy The first floor was pet friendly, but stairways lacking sufficient traction and balustrades to prevent catastrophic falls made much of the interior unsafe for pets. The lack of balustrades also made it not very kid friendly. The basement stairs were not to code; no handrails. The basement steps were also covered in an epoxy-type coating, meaning they may be slippery when wet. There was also steep, unsafe access to a third floor attic in the children's room that was incredibly unsafe and should be more sufficiently blocked off to mitigate incidents from curious toddlers being drawn to climb the structure leading up there. ##### Michael V.
