Close to shopping and water front

Posted 08-Aug-2017
Pros: Food was excellent and shops, restaurants and other entertainment are very close.
Cons: Some areas need a bit of attention they are looking a bit tired.
Location: Excellent for shops, restaurants, history, seafront and other leisure activities such as swimming and cinema
Enjoyed our stay food was excellent. Very close to good shopping and restaurants. Given the grand look of the hotel on the outside, we felt some areas of the inside could do with a little attention.

Good location, poor air conditioning, Rooms clean,

Locations and rooms were excellent. Breakfast was reasonable. Room was freezing cold and there was no way to manage the temperature. The front desk staff could have been more pleasant , cooperative and helpful.

Grand Harbour

Location was ok. Dead spider in bathtub though. No ice bucket so had to call for ice. Took over 30 minutes to get ice. Nice to have a balcony but too hot to sit outside on the balcony.

The Hotel is close to a big mall.

Posted 26-Jun-2017
Cons: A hair dryer
Location: There is a large mall and beautiful view of the water. I'm sure there is more to do but we were only there a short period of time.
It is a new hotel and everyone was very nice! It is not close to Heathrow airport but is close to the Southampton Port.

Nice central location. Nice compfy rooms. Quiet. Lovely breakfast. A bit shabby around the outside and in some communal areas but I think they are working on these.

Handy for cruise guests but don't expect cruise li

Posted 25-Jun-2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Competent management?
Location: Eat out at better venue?
Check in confusing. Staff all foreign, most with poor English. Room took for ever to be ready. Food ok on first night. Breakfast first day confusing., take, seat, wait for staff to assign table? Avoid the scambled eggs, taste like powdered. Room too hot even with AC on max. First night no water at all available from midnight to 04:00, not even toilet flush. Dinner on next night, no matre De, no-one to assign tables, staff passing by but avoiding eye. Plenty of tables empty, but few staff, told, in half empty room, that one hour wait for dinner, expect table 9:15PM. Went elsewhere & got good meal down the road. Manager blamed lack of staff (apparently their incompetence is the fault of Brexit (yes tat's what he implied). No doubt the overly hot room was global warming & the lack of water was climate change.

Close to town centre and facilities.

Posted 25-Jun-2017
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Adequate- It was clean, quiet, comfortable beds and provided the basics. Met our needs nicely
Location: Lots of historical buildings. Old charm buildings. Modern and old traditional food venues. Good shopping
We used this hotel prior to and after returning from a cruise. Within a short distance from the train station and the port terminal which means cheap taxi fares. Staff were helpful and polite. Assisted with luggage storage before the allowed check-in time. Ideally located within walking distance of local attractions and eating venues.

Attractive hotel with unsatisfactory service

Posted 19-Jun-2017
Pros: The hotel is a beautiful building. The location close to the old town is very convenient.
Cons: The service needs great improvement.
Location: Location is good. Everything is a reasonable distance to walk in beautiful surroundings.
The first night of our 4 night stay we encountered a large window which could not close. Also our balcony had 1 chair for 2 people. We referred our issues to the front desk. On our 3rd evening when it was very windy and we returned to a very cold wind blowing drapes around, a helpful concierge came and fixed the window. This occurred after 3 requests in person to staff. I called several departments and could not get the phone answered. The absence of a chair was to replace the missing chair with a very unstable one. Breakfast was very tasteless

Ideal location for board cruise ships

Posted 10-Jun-2017
Absolutely lovely hotel, they offer a park and leave service if your going on a cruise. Wish I'd had known about this before hand, think it was probably a fault on my part as there was plenty advertising in hotel. Will definitely use this hotel again.
