Very nice updated hotel

Great family stop off with good spa facilities and pool . Food very nice and staff very friendly and helpfull in the spa and hotel . Would defiantly visit again for a quick get away

Was disappointed our room wasn't in the actual house,as I had been a regular at the farm as a child,so was hoping to stay in the house.But nothing else was disappointing.clean,comfortable and private.Quick no fuss arriving and departing.

Not the luxury experience which is advertised!

Pros: If it wasn't for Pam on reception, who tried so hard, I would have left. The spa staff are great & try their hardest to improve your experience.
Cons: More well trained staff needed throughout. Show pictures of older rooms which guests will be given to avoid disappointment. CARPARK BARRIER NOTWORKING
Location: Situated close to first exit of M18, next door to an industrial estate on outskirts of Wickersley, Rotherham.
Booked with Experian for 3 nights, but needed to arrive a day earlier, so called the hotel direct & arraigned this. On arrival, my booking hadn't been made. Was shown to a room on 2nd floor, which stank of human feaces. Looked in the toilet & found the reason why. Shown to a 2nd room on 1st floor, which was very tired with stained carpets, worn furnishings & stained bedding. Because I was tired from a 5 hour drive I accepted the room. Next day was asked if I was happy & I expressed my disappointment. Shown to a 3rd room on ground floor, which has been recently refurbished. Much better quality! However, on closer inspection, again, the toilet was soiled & there was no wifi access. (I needed wifi at all times to access security cameras & business banking.) Drilling noise was loud throughout the corridor due to all the fire doors being wedged open. Work men & their equipment have to be navigated around as they are drilling holes in ceilings. The 4th room was accepted as the toilet was clean & had good wifi coverage. As before, the carpet was worn & stained, bedding had stains on & workmen drilling immediately outside my door. Experian emailed to ask how the check in went. I reported my experience. The hotel manager emailed a response stating the soiled toilets were due to a plumbing issue, which has "now been fixed" & there's minimal disruption to isolated areas within the hotel due to refurb & the wifi was being upgraded & rewired.

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting this review. I was disappointed to read your comments regarding the Hotel interior and food. Hellaby Hall comprises a beautifully restored 17th century Mansion house as well as a modern extension. All hotel corridors have been refurbished in the last few months and a bedroom refurbishment is currently underway. We often receive high praise for the quality of food and have recently been awarded an AA Rosette for the third year running. I am sorry that the food was not to your liking I am sure that an alternative would have been offered if the servers had been made aware. Thank You once again.

Lovely hotel and a great place to eat. Just a few minor issues 1) the room smelt of the loo when we got there but we were so tired we opened the window. 2) Got lost trying to find bar, when we did I asked "is this the bar?" I was told "what does it look like?" 3) there was an issue with charging to the room that took ages to sort. Good thing they it wasn't busy

Clean and Comfortable - little dated - poor Wifi

The reception and welcome was lovely, parking was easy and plentiful. The room was quite dated and needed some TLC but was comfortable and clean. You can hear a lot of noise in the hallway from people though.

The area is not very nice with no where to go or eat. The staff on the front desk were not helpful or knowledgeable of the local area. I presume this is a place only for weddings and those on business who need the motorway.The bar in the hotel was for all purposes just a canteen. I was also billed twice on checkout, although this was promptly refunded.

Hellaby hall hotel

Pros: Pool , gym & facilities. Quality
Cons: We managed to get the hotel because of a deal, we visit this area regularly so would like to use the hotel again as long as we can get deals.
Location: Rotherham skate Rink
My son had a two day trials so was going to be physically tired after each training session. I wanted a hotel where he could relax and mostly rest between the sessions. We enjoyed the pool and facilities so he was physically prepared for each session.
