Good location in Maafushi Island. Enjoyed the stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. They assisted with all requests.
Only small drawbacks are the view to beach/sea that is somewhat blocked by a harbor/port building and a breakfast buffet that seems slightly limited. This however did not impact the stay at all.
The hotel surpassed our expectations. It is not a flash 5* resort but a relaxed hotel in lovely surroundings. The guests we met were really friendly and some were frequent visitors due to the lagoon and natural surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. 8 nights of quiet and swimming and snorkelling in the gorgeous lagoon.
The staff were keen to help and very helpful from the room boy and waiter to the Guest Relations person.
Many guests come for the reef as it is a very good reef. We didn't dive but did snorkel in the lagoon (and with the turtle) and over the reef. There were many fish of as well as rays and turtles.
Our room was kept spotless by our room boy who did a different flower and bed linen arrangement every day!
Biyadhoo Island Resort Maldives is an attractive and splendid resort for both families and honeymoon couples. It is …More
- It's paradise in the Indian Ocean anywhere in Maldives, and we got a taste of it in Fihalholi!
- Ocean water is pristine, beaches are covered with fine powdery sands, trees and greens are overflowing, complemented with the cleanliness that we believe were well maintained.
- Excellent view of sunrise and sunset from the beach.
- We saw many multi-colored fishes while snorkeling.
- Room 12, where we stayed was just 30 seconds to 1 minute away from the beach.
- Food was delicious; our tummies were filled with sumptuous food thrice a day
- If not on all-inclusive plan - water and other beverages are to be purchased, rates expensive (1.5 L water = 5 USD)
- Ferry to Resort from Airport and vice versa - Fee of USD 140 for roundtrip per person to be paid directly to resort, seems bit expensive
- We just thought that the staff were "prohibited" to do extra interaction with guests; though I think Asians as they are, they are friendlier. It wouldn't hurt if the staff would have some more chitchats with the guests, provided that their job is not compromised and if the guests themselves are willing to interact as well.
This is our 2nd visit the resort, and it was also wonderful staying at this time. We spent the days so comfortably. There are wonderful viewing, excellent ocean, and beautiful corals! The staff are pretty friendly, they must help you to stay enjoyable.
Especially, I recommend the hotel to people loving snorkeling. There are corals just under the bungalows, and we can go into the sea directly from the rooms.
Unfortunately, The boat crossing between Veli and Dhigu sails too many times, that could be seen from my bungalow and sometimes I feel it noisy.
The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is very nice as well inside. The rooms are clean and cosy with constant hot water shower and air conditioning. The best part of the hotel are the staff, they make you feel very comfortable and at home and will recommend you things to do and answer any questions you have. The manager Mohamed is very helpful and you can ask him anything and he will try to accommodate it. The excursions with them were well planned and very affordable! (the guide Ali is so funny, look for him!) We booked all our excursions through them and had no regrets. Thank you Mohamed, Hussein and Ali for the great experience! Will definitely be back to the hotel again.
Kaani village is outstanding and quite comfortable. It has a huge array of excursions that you don't have to find your own and they are fun and memorable for the whole family. It also boasts good facilities such as a pool and a kettle. The staff there are kind and friendly and give discounts for the excursion we can only hope for.
For couples, especially couples on a honeymoon or a special anniversary (we were on our 25th wedding anniversary) this place is perfect. The setting of white, soft sands in a clear blue sea with tropical greenery is impossibly beautiful. The villa is immaculate, clean and tastefully decorated. Out the back you have your own sun dec with table and chairs and two sun beds. Best of all there are a few steps which lead into the water. From there, using the borrowed snorkelling gear it's a short swim to the reef, which is full of colourful fish.
The restaurant is very good, with some great dishes. As you might expect, the sea food is especially good. Although this is an Islamic country, there is no issue having a glass of wine (or just about any other drink you might like). We had a candle lit meal on the beach one evening and a meal on the sandbank. Both were very expensive, but both were fabulous.
We also went snorkelling in the "Aquarium" reef, which more than lives up to its name. This is a paid for activity, but this included a very good guide and the boat ride out. Dolphin watching on the sunset cruise was another highlight, especially as the guide was the hotel's marine biologist, who had a great depth of knowledge and an enthusiasm for the subject to match his knowledge.

South Male has a distinctly remote and less populated feel than its northern neighbour. Some of the best dive sites incorporate caves, sunken vessels, and protected marine areas. And for non-divers, snorkelling is on offer in the clear waters of a number of reef tops and edges if the currents are favourable. In addition, key surf breaks have been identified, with the best waves recorded from May-November and March-April. Several of the previously uninhabited islands now host luxury resorts.
