My key never worked to open my room. They tried to put us in a different room and the same problem was happening. Everytime we had to go to our room their solution was find someone at the front desk and they would let us in to our room. No compensation . Very frustrating .

It's a nice hotel. Room decor is a bit odd, but new and clean and definitely usable. The area is...fine, with some good dining options around, though you might want to drive elsewhere for better options.

Everything was good until we found out the shower faucet was broken and wouldn’t turn on. So no showering. Told the desk at checkout and clerk could have at least said “sorry for the inconvenience “but nothing.

The hotel was ok ....the main reason i booked it is because they advertise they have a spa tub well they dont. It appears they were trying to repair walls since some are half painted or patched and you can see the different colors of paint when you are paying around $200 per night you expect better than this .... also the parking lot is small so if towing anything you wont fit... I would not recommend this hotel with so many others in the area its too pricey for what you get

The lady behind the desk, Theresa, was nice, professional, helpful, and kind. It was our first trip to South Bend, and she gave us some helpful information about Notre Dame. She is certainly an asset to the hotel

I have stayed at several Holiday Inn Express locations before and this was, by far, the worst. Where do I start? Upon entering the lobby, I noticed an emergency exit sign dangling by a single wire The website for the hotel has a picture of a pool with a hot tub. Upon arriving, I went to the pool to find that the hot tub no longer exists. It was filled in with concrete. The room door had gaps with lots of hallway lighting bleeding through at night. The in-room AC unit was made the carpet directly below it wet to the touch. The bed top had dead bugs on it The bath tub had a broken stopper. So if you wanted to take a bath, you were out of luck. Only one of two ice machines were working Only one of two dryers in the guest laundry were working This sounds like a list of nit picky complaints but these are all easily fixable and they seem too lazy to fix or have no money for basic maintenance On the upside, the beds were very comfortable! Yes, I sucked it up and stayed anyway, as I was just staying one night. If im ever back in South Bend, Im going elsewhere

Our king bed suite was very big and nice. The room was clean and well stocked with toiletries and coffees for the Keurig. The bed was comfortable and had several king sized pillows. The breakfast was top notch with both hot and cold options along with a wide variety of hot and cold drinks as well. I would definitely stay here again.

There was a mix up in dates when scheduling with Expedia. We wanted to schedule for June 3rd, but the date accidently selected was June 16th. Neither Expedia or HI Express of South Bend would change the date or cancel the charge. It was poor service and poor marketing. Sterling Laaveg.

The hotel room has a tired & worn look. Dry wall tape pealing on the ceiling, missing tile in the bathroom. No attempt to hide or organize power cords under the desk. Had to wait a couple of minutes without being greeted while the front desk clerk finished a call. She could have at least looked up at me and nodded.
