We spent about a week in Vilamendhoo. Have to say Vilamendhoo has a lot to offer. In addition to the extremely beautiful house reef, there are a lot of activities every day and night including cultural night, karaoke night, free diving class, fruit carving class, to name just a few. The hotel is very family friendly and the staff is very helpful.
If you have children, you can choose garden villa or beach villa (note: water and jacuzzi villa not allowed children). Honestly there is not much difference between the two except the beach villa is ~US$35 more per day. We stayed at the beach villa near the reception area
We also went to the one-day snorkeling tour for US$90 / person. Highly recommended. We basically saw mantas, whale sharks, and sea turtles in one trip!
One thing you need to be mindful is that there are quite a lot of Mainland Chinese in this resort. Perhaps because of that, signs are in English and Chinese. Obviously it is good and bad. But coming from Hong Kong, I do't find it too ideal. As usual, you would find these mainland Chinese speak in large voice and not too hygienic (we actually saw one guy brought his son near the sea when we were in the speed boat and urinated). Disguising!
Also worth mentioning is that during the last day of our stay, the weather turned bad and there was a thunderstorm. We saw a lot of queen ants walking around the bathroom. We called the front desk and they applied the pesticide. Problem solved but still a bit annoying.

A long narrow island ringed by a crystal clear lagoon, ideal for snorkelling and sailing as well as being one of the best …More
Hotel is very raw, unique and organic .. It seems like one of the maldivian hotels that really respects the wild life .
Very freindly staff it felt like I was home, I especially love how it is 'a shoe free' island !
It is a place that is suitable for people who are looking for a non commercial vibe .. And looking for absolute peace and quietness.
(For that you need to notice that there is no pool or water motor activities at the hotel)
We spent our honeymoon in Constance Moofushi (All inclusive) resort in August 2015. From the moment we stepped on the island, we were always impresed with the hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms (housekeeping twice a day), beauty of the island, quality and richness of food, and numerous interesting extravaganzas.
"Gorgeous - total luxury, and so warm and friendly"
It was our first time in the Maldives, and we found a great deal on a beach bungalow for 9 days. It was a real 'trip of a lifetime' for us. From the moment we stepped off the sea plane and boarded the boat to the island, we were welcomed with open arms and ample (inclusive!) cocktails. Just utterly beautiful. We took a copy of 'Fishes of the Maldives' in the hope of spotting maybe some of the incredible sea life we'd read about. About two minutes into our snorkelling adventures outside our bungalow and we saw a huge array of fish, (friendly) sharks, eels, and we were particularly excited to meet a sea turtle.
The dive team on the island were great, we had an evening learning about coral and plankton and the different species of marine life in the Maldives. Fascinating, and made the snorkelling that much more interesting because we felt better informed about what we were looking at.
The food was outstanding, wonderfully presented and so varied. I ate lots of fish curry and rice but there was also a huge choice of Italian dishes, and even roast beef and potatoes! Amazing fruits including several I'd never heard of before. I definitely ate too much.
Our waiter was fabulous and always remembered what we liked. And on our last night he decorated our table with pictures of dolphins and flowers done in coloured sand. Felt very special.
I know it was supposedly 'once in a lifetime' but I'm already planning my next trip!
We stayed in a private beach villa twenty feet from the Indian Ocean. The water was gorgeous, the weather was magnificent and the staff at the LUX were incredible. I was very impressed. The stay was pricey, but well worth the money.

This luxury beach-front resort is located on Dhidhoofinolhu Island in South Ari Atoll, bordered by a stretch of white sand …More
We Went to the place on 22nd Nov 2014 and stayed for 3 days. The beaches were awesome. The food was average. However, for indian veg, the cooks were more than willing to make us some curries and dal. The staff is extremely pleasant and more than willing to help. The beaches are extremely neat. The best part of the resort is that it is not very crowded and if you walk a little bit, you will feel that you are the only one on the beach.....Will definitely recommend for people travelling to Maldives.
While South Ari Atoll offers some of the most established resorts in the Maldives, development has been relatively measured, sympathetic and with minimal impact on the environment and local culture. From May to September, whale sharks cruise the south-western waters of the atoll.
