Hotel is very raw, unique and organic .. It seems like one of the maldivian hotels that really respects the wild life .
Very freindly staff it felt like I was home, I especially love how it is 'a shoe free' island !
It is a place that is suitable for people who are looking for a non commercial vibe .. And looking for absolute peace and quietness.
(For that you need to notice that there is no pool or water motor activities at the hotel)
We stayed for 8 nights in a water villa, the hotel is really good, spacious room, very good food and wines! The island is amazing, great for swimming and amazing for snorkelling. We could even see dolphings passing by the hotel beach
Lovely holiday - delicious food - incredible accommodations. Bring US Dollars (we ran out of cash and sadly couldn't add gratuity for the waitstaff and housekeeping staff at checkout). We were the only North Americans there; The guests were primarily German, Swiss & Italian with a large group of Chinese visitors as well...

We Went to the place on 22nd Nov 2014 and stayed for 3 days. The beaches were awesome. The food was average. However, for indian veg, the cooks were more than willing to make us some curries and dal. The staff is extremely pleasant and more than willing to help. The beaches are extremely neat. The best part of the resort is that it is not very crowded and if you walk a little bit, you will feel that you are the only one on the beach.....Will definitely recommend for people travelling to Maldives.
I spent 8 amazing nights at Lux South Ari Atoll in November. This is a really beautiful resort. So much attention paid to little details. I cannot say enough about the staff. Everyone always says hi, goes out of their way to be helpful and make sure you have a great stay and were just generally nice. I met both the manager and general manager several times throughout my stay and feel they are a great example for the rest of the staff to follow. The manager, Mamoun, even gave me a ride to breakfast one morning. I really enjoyed the food and the drinks. The all-inclusive package was really good with the variety of food and drinks that were available and covered. The resort is quite large and there were a lot of people staying there but you would never know it. There was always space by the pool or on the beach. Never an issue finding a table for dinner. Island shuttles were frequent so you never had to worry about walking too far if you didn't want to. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff did an amazing job keeping them clean and as sand free as possible. Some of the little details including the healthy island made ice cream, the hidden messages in bottles and the secret bar were just fun little extras. I would recommend the resort to everyone and look forward to staying here again.

The best hotel I've been to in Maldives. The best island hotel I've seen so far. Great staff, clean rooms, good food, Shisha, clean calm waters, great for snorkelling and sea activities.
Reasonable price, great value for money and all inclusive actually means all inclusive. You don't like something, no worries, they get you what you want, they give you what you like. It's like Burj Alarab in Maldives. You want it, you get it!
We have just returned from our 8 night honeymoon at Centara, where we had the most wonderful time. Centara is a tropical island PARADISE!
Our over-water bungalow was clean, tidy, cool, quiet and private. There's nothing more magical than waking up to the most beautiful blue water outside every window of the room! Our bathroom was modern, with a jacuzzi, and the vanity was stocked full of necessary toiletries- very handy if you travelled only with carry-on luggage, which we did (and I highly recommend; you don't need much here!)
Centara runs an all-inclusive package, which made it so easy! We packed away our wallets in the in-room safe when we arrived and didn't take them out until we left. You will NEVER go hungry on the island, with Buffet breakfast and a choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner (Buffet, Italian, Thai or Japanese Teppanyaki). Afternoon Tea is served by the pool with a selection of cakes and sandwiches. The food was fantastic. So many choices for drinks at the bars/ restaurants too. I loved the frozen Pina Coladas :) I only wish the in-room mini bar had wines/bubbles as well as beer (I don't drink beer)
Loved the daily massages and included tours. We went to the gym a couple of times; It's got what you need for a holiday workout.
Hands-down, the best part of our holiday were the staff and other guests we met. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
We cannot wait to come back to Centara!!
We loved Sun Island. We stayed in one of the stilt houses and it was incredible. We were able to walk down the stairs directly into the ocean. The view was awesome, the room was good, and the facilities on the island were good. There is a free shuttle to the sister island of Holiday Island, which has better snorkeling than Sun Island. The only things we didn't like were the Whale Shark excursion and the shark and ray feedings. The Whale Shark excursion was unlimited in numbers, so when we did find a whale shark, dozens of people piled into the ocean and scared the shark away. They really need to limit the number of people on the excursion. Eventually, if they keep this up, the whale sharks will just go away rather than be harrassed by snorkelers and divers. The divers actually touched the whale shark on the face and took photos with flash directly in its face, blinding it temporarily. Disgusting behavior! When we first got to Sun Island, we thought the ecosystem must be very healthy due to the number of sharks we saw. However, we then realized there were so many because they were being fed nightly. That is a terrible practice and actually harms the sharks and the ecosystem. They should stop doing this.
The staff, especially the cleaning staff, were very helpful and kind. We had a great stay and hope to return some day.

While South Ari Atoll offers some of the most established resorts in the Maldives, development has been relatively measured, sympathetic and with minimal impact on the environment and local culture. From May to September, whale sharks cruise the south-western waters of the atoll.
