"Nice hotel only a few steps from beach and town."
I stayed for six night with three other friends and we all enjoyed the stay. I loved the three jacuzzis with ocean view, pool was very nice too. The staff was very friendly and they had a few activities on the daily basis. The reason why i give it 3 stars is because the food on the all inclusive package was okay; i didnt really enjoy it. They have buffets but they're very repetitive. I've stayed at different resorts before but this one definitely needs to improve the taste of the food to give it 4 stars. However, i would stay again because the location is great. You got stores, restaurants, bars and clubs around.
Just the place to enjoy and relax! The rooms were very clean, the continental breakfast outstanding, a very nice 2 minute walk to the beach, plenty on restaurants close by to enjoy all kind of meals from the typical island dishes to Mediterranean and European Cuisine. Garden by the Sea is run by its owner Nikki Wilson and her first priority is hers resort guests. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a relax time, in a beautiful Garden by the Sea.
I stayed 3 nights (thurs till sunday) and left with a great impression of the hotel and its beauty and even better impression of the service.
Rooms/grounds- to my surprise upon checking in we were shown to a 3 bedroom unit overlooking the water despite booking just a basic room and paying what i thought was very regular/standard prices for a hotel like the Gansevoort. My girlfriend and I were both amazed as the unit was incredibly spacious and the views of the beach were breathtaking. The room had walk-in closests/over-heard shower/outdoor deck to enjoy the water view. I can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised we were with the rooms!
Omar and Miguel were both exceptional in their attention to detail and interest that they took in us enjoying our trip. Omar arranged a car rental and trip to the waterfalls. He gave us his cell phone number incase we got lost and said he is around whenever to help. Also, we forgot to bring sunscreen so Omar left the facility to seek a brand of our choice. Miguel was very helpful in recommending nightlife and checked in with us frequently at the pool to make sure we had drinks/food whenever needed. It was just the right balance from both of them of attention to detail but allowing us space/privacy when we were relaxing. Also, Emanuel at Baia louge was excellent in looking after us as well.
By far the best and healthiest food we tasted of the trip was at the hotel. Starting with breakfast (which was complimentary
Sosua is a prostitute capital in Dominican Republic. The town it self is not for families. Great place to visit for a day and snorkel or scuba dive but not to stay. If you just want to stay at a hotel and do nothing with a beautiful view then this hotel is ok. The staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good. The gym needed updating. Hotel is not wheelchair accessible and requires a lot of handiman work and painting. The beds were very very hard. Mattress on cement with no box spring. The supper and lunch menu was expensive. Many other good restaurants for less money.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap hotel. You get a lot more than what you pay for. Although the place is somewhat far from the beach and other sites, the staff are kind enough to drive you anywhere at no cost. Overall the place is well maintained and clean.
Sosua is a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, about 10 minutes from the international airport. The town has a tourist area and a residential area that are separated by the main public beach. During World War II, Sosua welcomed a number of Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria. Today, the town has a small synagogue and is popular with European tourists and expatriates.
