Nice relaxing area with tons of parking, great views. Staff is very nice and helpful. 30 minute walk into Sorrento *I always walked down, which they got a neat walkway down the mountain,* but walking back up is another story, recommend the bus that says *Priora* for that. All in all it was a great stay.

It was not comfortable AT ALL! Beds are hard pillows worse ! Nuns are lovely hosts but area has nothing to offer. No transportation or ability to walk. 1 restaurant and pizza which you can not walk to. Very uncomfortable

Hi Gail, We are sorry that you had problems with our pillows, but if you had warned us we would certainly have been able to do something to help you, as well as to move. We have clearly specified on all the portals that our house is located in a hilly area and not in the city center to ensure that our guests are not unprepared and we are always available to facilitate our guests as much as possible.

The staff was very nice and could communicate well. The buses that go to this area however are not very reliable. Ended up paying for very expensive taxi’s multiple times (we were not the only ones). This however was not the hotels fault.

Oasi Madre property was welcoming and calming. It allowed for much needed peaceful rest after touring the country. The sisters allowed my kids to feel at home with the properties farm animals and litter playground. We felt safe in allowing our kids to move around trhe property without us. The local restaurant provided pickup and return services. great stay

Good VFM but a car is essential if you stay here
This is a working convent which lets rooms to tourists and visitors. The convent is the home of a small community of Roman Catholic nuns who keep the premises immaculately clean. The rooms are clean but furnished in a rather austere style though comfortable and with private bathroom facilities. The reception of visitors is good and response to problems effective. The convent is in a spectacular position with great views of the bay of Naples but it is a considerable distance from Sorrento. It is 15 minutes drive from the centre of Sorrento and at the top of a very very steep hill (hence the spectacular views) accessed along a long and winding road with no pedestrian walkway. Although there is a bus service it is a little unreliable. A car is essential. The price reflects the nature of the accommodation and its distance from Sorrento itself but as such provides good value for money.

Agree with the others, how clean place is, beautiful views from the terrace and grounds. Having a parking was convenient for us,only 15 min drive to Sorrento and parked there at parking structure for $2 in hour .Street leading to hotel from the main street is very steep and narrow

Never stay here if you want to be in Sorrento
This place isn’t anywhere near Sorrento. It’s 3 miles to the ferry to Capri and 2.5 miles to the bus/train station - and the last mile is STRAIGHT UP. Completely false and misleading to say it’s in Sorrento. And it’s not a bed and breakfast, it’s a convent. There is no front desk and there is never anyone around if you have a question or issue. The “breakfast” they serve is day old bread, warm milk with stale cereal, expired yogurt and whatever else was left over from the sisters’ dinner the night before. You can only get limited WiFi if you go out on the balcony and it’s sketchy there too BC I kept getting dropped. These people smile and nod a lot, but they shouldn’t be on HOTELS.COM, bc they aren’t a hotel, a bed and breakfast or anything even close to either one.

Secluded Retreat
This is a getaway/retreat in the true sense, at the very top of the high mountain, far from the city center away from the tourists and maddening crowd. There’s no cellphone network there but WiFi is available that only works in the corridor area and not within the room. View from the terrace is great and the home is beautiful. This bed and breakfast place is run by nuns, who are very warm, cordial and helpful. You can preorder dinner a day before or the nun can call a restaurant few mins away that has known them for many years. Someone from the restaurant comes to pick up and drop off customers from this retreat as you can imagine, this isn’t a crowded place with taxis :) P.S. no towels or toiletries were provided besides hand soap. There wasn’t a TV or telephone either. Which is why I said, it’s a vacation place for those that want to be disconnected from their regular lives for a few days. Don’t worry, WiFi calls work though.

The views from the balcony were wonderful. The sisters were so sweet to my family. They took care of everything we needed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You will need a car or expect to pay a taxi. We took a tour by boat of Amalfie and the tour company included pick up in package so that helped.

Lovely stay
We had such a lovely stay with the sisters, they were brilliant hosts. The views and gardens were beautiful, we loved all seeing all the animals and even got to hold the baby rabbits. There is also a really cute play area for children in the gardens. The room was absolutely spotless. The walk into the centre of sorrento takes about 30-40 minutes and is very steep with no footpath for about 10-15 mins, but there are bus stops nearby which can take you into the centre, there is another bus stop nearby for Amalfi & Positano which was very handy. We would stay here again if we returned to Sorrento.

Pictures are reflective of the room. Basic rooms but the view is magic and the wonderful hospitality of the nuns. They were truly beautiful to my two kids. Extremely helpful and generous with their time. They even have ducks, rabbits, chickens and goats! Beautiful fruit orchards also. You will definitely need a car! Definitely worth the stay and my kids loved the experience.

The property and view is lovely. Rooms are no frills. My issue here was the sincerity of the nuns running this B&B (which saddens me to even say). We booked an extra night by mistake and asked when checking in if we could get a refund for the one night (we were staying 5, not 6). We were assured it would be credited to our account. We asked repeatedly throughout our stay and were told, "yes." We left, figuring the issue would be resolved later. However, when we got home we were told we would not be given credit because it was "not their policy." We are still shocked and extremely saddened by this experience.

This oasi - really an oasis of kindness
We were at the end of a spiritual camino in Italy with 5 days left before our return back to Canada. We chose Sorrento and the Amalfi coast as our destination before returning. We chose this B&b for a combination of reasons. As Sorrento is a relatively expensive city to vacation in we were looking for not only value but also proximity to the city centre. We opted for the value before proximity. In the end we were delighted with our stay. It might have been further away from piazza Tasso but I’m sure we had a very quiet sleep. The walk to town was not as bad as we first thought. There is a wonderful trail that takes you directly to the Marina grande and/or the Main Street leading to the piazza. The bus situation was more of a challenge and taxis were very pricey. Luckily we chose tours where they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. That eliminated early morning rushing around. When we arrived We were greeted by sister Winnie with great pleasure and kindness. The view from both our room and patio/deck was next to none. Our room was immaculately clean and the bathroom was modern and equally as clean. The breakfast attached to our stay was great - fresh baked buns and bread coupled with homemade jams, juices, yoghurt, fruit and of course a variety of coffees. Each day we were greeted by the sisters and treated as one big family. There was a option at an additional cost to have lunch or dinner at the convent. This is a value in itself.

It's a monestary, not a B & B
We didn't stay. It is a convent /monestary. There was no mention of that in the description of the room. I felt totally duped. It was incredibly inappropriate for my family. It was way, way, way FAR away from town, unlike the description. We pulled in, saw the set up, were approached by nuns and turned around and left. We ended up paying a TON of money to get something last minute in town -- AND paid for two nights at the monestary when we didn't even stay there. Again, I felt like we were tricked into staying there.

It is just that a bed and breakfast.... it has a wonderful view everything was pretty clean you must need a car to stay there, the a/c in my room doesn’t work but the whether was super nice in the evening. We haven’t try de food on the breakfast. So I can’t make and opinion. For what I paid I will recommend it.

Nice bed & breakfast
The sisters were incredibly nice and helpful. They have everything you need, including arrangements with tour companies that will pick you up nearby. Also, they will do everything for you, restaurant reservations, transportation, etc. It's very simple but perfect and peaceful. We love it, including my two teenagers. :)

The nuns were VERY welcoming, as were the geese!!! The ONLY downside is that the location is quite remote from town, up a very steep hill, and the local buses are not reliable - their timetable is 'aspirational' at best. The upside of being up on a steep slope is that the views over the Bay of Naples are FANTASTIC!!! Don't forget food for a picnic on the terrace as you watch the sunset.

Not Exactly What I Expected
When I made the reservation the reviews at that time said it was approx 1 km to get to the Sorrento downtown and their were some uphills that could be tiring. What it is, is that it is a long walk down a windy road that in my opinion is too dangerous to walk. We had to hire a taxi everyday in order to get in and out of Sorrento (the convent is acutally in Priora, near Sorrento) which made the stay more expensive than anticipated. The sisters were very friendly, kind and tried to accommodate our needs. The convent itself, has great views of the area and is basic, but comfortable.

Great place to stay
I was at the place for 5 nights with my wife and kids. We were on a road trip in Italy and stayed in some good city hotels. However, this place was different for so many different reasons. The garden sorrounding the hotel is beautiful and a vacation just around the hotel would be sufficient for 5 days. The drive up to the hotel can be difficult but absolutely stunning. The roof terrace view is breathtaking! Kids play area was a bonus. The members of the staff were most helpful and informative. Sister Winne was lovely and took my kids to see the bunnies. Overall a great place to stay if the facilities are slightly better. Nowadays you must have good WIFI in hotels. This is what is lacking and caused our family to struggle to keep up with our essential work. There is no TV in the room and it would not bother me if WIFi was good. Probably the cleaning person need to clean a bit more in the room such as dusting the room and probably also making sure the blunkets are dust free and user friendly. Access to a Car is a must for this place. However the road to Positano and Amalfi is just outside the hotel. Overall a great place for Sorrento visitors if you can cope with no TV and limited WIFI. All the best to the Sisters running the place for their hard work and hospitality.

This is a NUNNERY/CONVENT. NOT a Bed and Breakfast
This is a Nunnery/Convent, not a Bed and Breakfast. The pictures presented on Expedia's website are not true/accurate. This place is 25 to 40 minutes outside of Sorrento City, with no place within 10 miles to have a meal. We traveled by cab (cost 40 Euros) up steep, curvy, narrow roads and arrived at a gate that opens and a nun is standing there. There was no TV in the room, no towels (there were sheets cut into towels and wash cloths), and there were no other guests. It was creepy! The nuns refused to refund any part of the trip, even though we left within an hour of getting there. Leaving presented it's challenges too because of the remoteness of this location, and we had paid for a tour of the Amalfi coast while in town and scheduled to have them pick us up from our hotel; luckily we had the card of the cabbie that took us out there, we were also able to find another hotel on short notice, and contacted the tour service (that answered after hours) to have them meet us a different hotel. So we paid for this "hotel" and another since they refused to refund any part of our payment, as well as additional cab fare to get out of there.

Good evening Mrs. Debbie, we are very sorry that our house was not to your liking, but allow us to clarify some things. As described by the portals, our house is located exactly 4 km from Sorrento, so no more than 10 minutes by car on a provincial road, except for the last 50 meters. The bus stop is 50 meters from the house and the cost of the ticket from Sorrento is € 2.10, unfortunately we are not responsible for the rates charged by taxi drivers. Near our house there is an excellent restaurant that also offers a shuttle service, as well as the possibility to have lunch / dinner directly at home. All rooms have towels. The photos of the house and the rooms that are on the portals are "all" real. Unfortunately, she had made the reservation by "non-refundable" method, to take advantage of a very advantageous price, and since it is the Easter week, thanks to God our house was fully booked. We will be happy to host you in the future with your family. Pace e bene

Amazing Views
B&B run by nuns. My family loved staying here and would definitely come back. We ate dinner on site twice and the food was delicious and plentiful. The grounds and gardens are lovely. It is high on a hill with spectacular views of Vesuvius but was a challenging 1 mile hike from town. We are in good shape and chose to walk to/ from town (there's a bike path that is safer than walking the road). The rooms are minimalist with no tv/wifi in room. Beds were not too comfortable but we slept well in spite of it.

Quiet, tranquil hotel with no outside distractions
The hotel was beautiful and Sister Madelin and the other nuns were very pleasant and helpful. Despite the rooms not have television, telephone and wifi, the rooms were comfortable and the terrace had the most beautiful view of Mt. Vesuvius. We loved Sister Madelin's personality and appreciated her accommodating us. We took lots of pictures and have lots of good memories.
