We made a last-minute booking through Expedia and found an unexpected paradise. the rooms are so characterful, each one different. we were in the Emily Carr room, with her works filing the walls and the bookshelves. Our balcony faced a beautiful bay and we spent long stretches just gazing at the constantly-changeing outlook. No photograph can do justice to the room, as it won't convey the scents of the herbs outside in the window box, nor the sounds of the sea. All rooms have an open fire, with wood supplied daily and it was so relaxing to watch the dancing flames late into the evening. Service from all staff was excellent and unintrusive. Relaxation is the priority here, so you won't find TVs in the rooms, though there are CD players with CDs freely available from reception. Complimentary breakfast is delivered to your room. The food in the restaurant is fabulous, if rather
pricey. We enjoyed our tour around the organic garden and learned so much-the tour is offered daily. This was an anniversary stay and was pure delight-we loved it.

The units are clean and have great view of the Sooke basin. This is an ideal place to stay with the family as the units are very well equipped for a comfortable family vacation. A great choice if you would like to relax, fish and be close by the ocean and go fishing. It's also very close to the potholes at which the kids can have a great time swimming and have fun. It's also a relatively short drive to Victoria.

This is one of the nicest places that I've ever stayed at. (And I've stayed at a few over the years)
It didn't start too well as we travelled to Vancouver Island from Vancouver on a Friday afternoon and it was the third ferry before there was space for us to get on (Five and a half hour wait)
We therefore missed the 4 to 6pm check in and due to issues with our UK mobile phone were unable to contact the owner to advise them we were running late and eventually arrived at 9:30pm.
Nothing was too much bother for the owner who was away for the evening and they left our key out for us with instructions to register the next morning.
The facilities, location and views from this property make it an ideal place to relax and unwind.
The finishes were top class and the barbque and hot tub made for an even more relaxing stay.
Also ideal for watching wildlife. We saw deer, raccoons and squirrels in the garden, birds of prey in the trees nearby and overhead and seals in the bay and whales about half a mile off shore.
If we're back in the area I'd have no hesitation in staying at this property.
Moonlight B&B is by far the favorite place we've stayed in BC. Perfectly clean rooms with stunning views of the Sooke Basin, leisurely, homemade breakfast (always with more food than we could eat), and with trails and large blackberry patch to wander in the backyard! Most memorable of our stay, though, was Chris, the owner and manager, who treated us like family. She even helped us with travel advice, tailoring our stay based off of our interests. She puts so much care and personality into this beautiful little oasis.
Sooke is comprised of East Sooke and the District of Sooke, two communities that straddle the Sooke Basin. Part of a temperate rainforest, Sooke has a wealth of parks, such as Sooke Potholes Regional Park and Juan de Fuca Regional Park. For centuries, Sooke was a settlement of the Coast Salish Indians. Europeans arrived in the mid-1800s to pursue logging and fishing, still thriving industries.
