Absolutely beautiful location
Lake Crackenback Resort is amazingly beautiful. I love this place. Each time I’ve stayed the accomodation has been modern, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. All rooms have great views. Nature is at your doorstep. It’s pricey but worth it!

Despite the wet weather, we had a great time at the resort. Lots of walks and animals to see. Breakfast included was ok. No housekeeping during the stay which was odd.

Beautiful location; chalet itself nice but no wifi; no clothes hangers; no batteries in aircon remotes; tennis courts in dangerous disrepair- ran into falling, rusted metal surrounding/enclosure; clearly no maintenance in a very long time; breakfast was always cold (ie the ‘hot’ food; shrivelled mushrooms; cold ‘toast’; cold roasted tomatoes; dinner really average despite cost; oysters not fresh - stuck to shell.). If l were an owner, I’d be worried about the quality of services offered by resort. I wouldn’t return.

This is a managed development of owner occupied homes Unfortunately all the properties are different therefore the receptionist was not able to give us all the relevant information about our accommodation

Comfortable accommodation
Wonderful place near ski tube. We had a huge 2 bedroom Chalet with heaps of room and space and comfy beds. Breakfast could be improved.

Beautiful relaxing spot for a luxury break in the snow. The breakfast's each day are lovely and the staff attentive and friendly, best scrambled eggs ever. The ducks on the lake are a welcome addition.

Fine but expensive
Good stay overall. On the expensive side. Chalet was super clean except lots of trash under the sofa (2 bottles and an apple). The chalet did not have any privacy or views, had to keep all curtains closed. Some of the resort equipment needs maintenance, e.g. arrows and trampoline. Breakfast was ok, no revelation.

Easy check in, easy to find chalet. Excellent facilities. Food options slightly overpriced. A little more lighting would have been appreciated. Security was a little concerning (maybe just because we are city folk!)

Everything about this property was brilliant. We enjoyed every second of our stay there. The only letdown was the pool, which wasn’t appealing at all. No towels for comfort and the building was rusty with filthy windows. Compared with the class of the rest of the resort, this was disappointing.

Fantastic place to stay . One issue don’t ask for a coffee for breakfast when there is 1 hour to go until it ends . They will not make you one .

A beautiful resort with lovely scenery, walks and activities. The main restaurant isn't open in summer and the studio accommodation we stayed in was modern and fully equipped, but very hot due to the western sun.

Exceeded our expectations
We have wanted to go to Lake Crackenback for a while. It exceeded all our expectations. Accommodation was very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Staff were very helpful. Amenities were good. Had an excellent meal in the Cuisine restaurant. Lots of lovely walks and bike rides. We did the Thredbo to Lake Crackenback mountain bike track. It was a bit more demanding than I expected (we are in our 60's) and we had to concentrate the whole time on the track and didn't dare look up to take in the views. In spite of that we had a great week.

There was no air conditioning in the studio room and no ceiling fans in the living area only where the bed was. The heater randomly came on for no reason two time on a already hot day which did eventually stop. The room was different to the photos on the internet of the studio type of room. I don't feel the the room was worth the price that I paid for it.

What a fantastic stay we had at Lake Crackenback. The resort is packed with things to do. The Lakeside chalets we stayed in was excellent; tidy and full of everything we needed for our stay. Cuisine restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, the food was delicious and the service great. We look forward to returning!

We had a lovely relaxing time. There is so much to do if you would like but we were happy to just relax in our chalet. All the staff were cheerful and helpful. Can't wait to go back.

It is set up well for mountain bikers but if your not biking then as a walker you need to be very guarded on any of the tracks around and near the resort. The resort attracts ‘day guests’ and on most of the days we we there the facilities were crowded. The Spa is obviously so popular they didn’t even bother to return my phone calls so didn’t get to use. The over water units are clearly the best. The restaurants are 1st class and all the staff friendly enough. If your not over water then you are crammed in and overlooked in many apartments.

This place is a wonderful active getaway. My husband and I only stayed 2 nights, and we managed to fit all the activities we wanted in. The resort has lot of sporting activities, and is close to other towns if you need to go shopping.

Great ambience & located just before the national park toll gate. Our studio unit was modern, clean & quite spacious. Bed & pillows were comfy. However, no aircon in the midst of heatwave conditions made sleeping a challenge. Quality toiletries but no shower gel

Beautiful location at the top of the lake. Further from the restaurant and activities but perfect for peace and tranquility. Stayed in a new apartment with air conditioning. Very well equipped and maintained.

Great location
The resort is the perfect spot in respect to distance and ease to Thredbo, Perisher, Jindabyne and the ski-tube. The accomodation itself was very comfortable with all the essentials. Heating was very efficient. The breakfast at Cuisine was excellent, some of the best around. The resort is very relaxing to be at.

Few detracting issues
This place would be amazing travelling as a couple or family year round. Many activities and the proximity to the National Park (for walking/riding/skiing/snowboarding etc. depending on the time of year) make it a potential standout. Onsite Ski/Snowboard rental at reasonable rates a bonus. 2 places to eat with good food at both (but neither truly stands out in that regard unfortunately), but which leads me to the 'detractions'... 1) No included Wifi in rooms/chalets. At these prices I think that should be expected. 2) Depending on which Chalet you are allocated you may be a LONG walk to breakfast, reception or any of the other amenities ... do think about this as the best option for some families may be to actually DRIVE! to get to/from breakfast etc. which may not be a desired by some. 3) Variable staffing. Some staff were completely amazing and consistent with what this property proposes to offer, others really didn't seem to care less (including those that assisted us with check in that failed to provide relevant details that would have helped us during out stay at the property, that subsequent staff stated should have been provided at that time) with a standard of service was below that I have received at many 3 (or less) star properties.
