Confused - Customer not amused

Posted 31-Oct-2016 on Orbitz
Location: Cliveden Nat'l Trust property and large nature preserve are within 2 miles .
Booked room and promptly booked dining through hotel website. 2 days later, our arrival date, received email that dining was fully book. As hotel is out in the boonies, sent an email as to what alternates bar/ room service would be available.. Reply by email was that there was an 8:00 P.M. booking for us. Fine dining ( 2 rooms) were empty that night. Bar servers great but dining Dinner Server was brusque and icy.. Evening check-in staff had trouble locating our reservations- we had booked to rooms. Additionally, she did not know where /what Cliveden was- it is a National Trust Property with public garden within two miles of hotel. Oddly, this hotel was booked the following day with a large overflow group of wedding guests - the wedding was at Cliveden. At check-out, the front desk called a car from a vendor in Maidenhead - five + miles away vs. a local cab as requested. The fare differential was ten pounds. Desk Staff needs training on local services and area activities.

Rooms are nice. But not worth the money spent.

Location: Local shops and restaurants are close by.
Rooms are ok But the leisure facilities and breakfast selection are really good.

Bon hôtel, chambres spacieuses. Le prix de la chambre est un peu élevé, petit déjeuner onéreux..

Not quite a 4 star!

Posted 26-Sep-2016
The room was much smaller than expected and no air conditioning made it extremely stuffy. It was very clean, nicely decorated and the bed comfy. The service was not 4 star standard in my opinion. Breakfast was very busy, we were left to stand and not seated. Tables were not re-laid when people had finished resulting in a number of guests having difficulty finding somewhere to sit despite the fact multiple tables were available. We were not offered hot drinks or toast. Our plates were not cleared at any point during breakfast. The staff seemed over-stretched and poorly trained in customer service skills which is again is not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Having said that, when I mentioned this on checkout (notably I was was not asked how my stay was) I was immediately offered a refund for the breakfast so this was handled well.

check in staff not very helpful.

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: in nice area ,looks good from the out side ,other than some guest form another wedding party throwing up in the bushes out side when we returned
Cons: improve customer service .
Location: nice gardens . requires more parking closer to the hotel .
check staff when we arrived not very helpful required an extra £50 for security ? why . the clients that they promote to staying at their Hotel are not going to run off with the TV or towels . a lot of early morning banging of doors on Sunday. check out ,very confusing return deposits and rehanging cards for the bill . rooms a lot smaller than they like on the web site .
