Confused - Customer not amused

Booked room and promptly booked dining through hotel website. 2 days later, our arrival date, received email that dining was fully book. As hotel is out in the boonies, sent an email as to what alternates bar/ room service would be available.. Reply by email was that there was an 8:00 P.M. booking for us. Fine dining ( 2 rooms) were empty that night.
Bar servers great but dining Dinner Server was brusque and icy..
Evening check-in staff had trouble locating our reservations- we had booked to rooms. Additionally, she did not know where /what Cliveden was- it is a National Trust Property with public garden within two miles of hotel. Oddly, this hotel was booked the following day with a large overflow group of wedding guests - the wedding was at Cliveden.
At check-out, the front desk called a car from a vendor in Maidenhead - five + miles away vs. a local cab as requested. The fare differential was ten pounds. Desk Staff needs training on local services and area activities.
