Great stay
Great location in middle of town. Free parking and plenty of it. Great bar area though they were understaffed but the staff were all very friendly . Lovely clesn room with very nice toiletries. Had meal at night which was excellent and the breakfast next morning had lots of choice and was excellent

I liked the comfortable room on entering. The room itself was comfortable and a nice touch to have a Roberts radio playing Classic fm. What I did not like was having to pay for my 2 night stay the minute I went to check in. I have never done that before. Usually payment is taken at checkout. Bathroom in room ha a very noisy shower in so far as the pipes screamed when showering. Not relaxing at all. Also there was black mould around the widow frames in the bedroom. Food was not bad apart from a scallop starter which was well over priced and not that good. Staff were very friendly. Seems it is almost there and with a bit of attention to detail should be better.

The staff were fantastic as well as the public areas inc car parking..The room not so..Single glazed due to the age of the building this brought with it road noise through out the night.The room heat was on 27 deg on arrival which was stifling and as the window couldn't be opened all we could do is turn it down and have the door to the corridor open.Bathroom smelt which went away after running the taps for a while...Small things but easily remedied with a little forethought...I guess we could of brought it to the hotels attention but as we spent little time in the room and it was only one night we didn't as we remedied most of the niggles our-self...

Great base for exploration
The Hotel was great for a couple of nights stay to explore the areas surrounding Horncastle. The room was very clean, and well presented, there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, you can order room service if you wish, or eat in the restaurant area down by the lobby. The building is quite an old building, so some of the floors are a bit creaky, something to consider if that sort of thing bothers you. The car park is a great addition as many other hotels around do not offer parking, and on-street parking is rare. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stated in a single room, which was perfect, had a small double bed which was nice, and a good amount of space on the room to move around and a large wardrobe space, the room also had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and a fan.

Really good food. Very tasty breakfast. Staff very friendly. However the shower didn't work (but at least we had a bath) and last orders were called too early for a weekend, well before 10.30pm. Overall a good trip though.

Lovely relaxing break .Staff very friendly and accomodating when we wanted to change our room due to it been noisy. on the main road.The breakfast we had was a great start to the day,but the roof in the conservatory was covered in mould,needs a good clean.This was the only negative from our trip.

Definitely recommend and stay again
Family room was a very generous size. Very comfortable. Not enough towels, reception popped up with more very very quickly. Double room, felt a little small, but this really didn't detract from the comfort at all. Staff throughout the stay were absolutely great. Very friendly and informative. Reception staff were very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast staff were really lovely and again very helpful. Really lovely stay. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again/ use this chain elsewhere.

We arrived at the hotel around 1pm, and was told understandably that as check in was 3pm our room was not ready as housekeeping had not returned the keys. We returned at 2.50pm and told that the room was still not ready as housekeeping had not returned the keys. As the hotel was not busy on a Sunday evening maybe as we have experienced at other hotels, rooms when available are offered to their guests, not in a job lot not a minute before check in opens.

Not a 4 star at all!
I rarely leave bad reviews and I don't tend to complain when I am at a hotel. But when a lot of minor things add up then a negative review is a must I think. Starting with a positive though, the staff are in the main really good! But the room. . . ? I am guessing that the hotel has 2 sides. I was in a tiny room, that was supposedly a double, on the front of the hotel overlooking the road. DO NOT STAY IN THESE ROOMS!! Ask for a modern room at the back. It was very warm but the cooler didn’t work. Of the two windows one wouldn't budge at all and the other was a massive struggle to open. But the road noise is so bad you cant leave it open anyway. When I checked in there were two tissues or wipes left on the carpet and at least one towel had definitely been used! Not sure what the tissues were and wasn't about to find out! The noise from the floorboards above is really bad and woke me up! The sink was blocked and took ages to drain. The food was ok although when I asked for eggs on toast I was told I had to do the toast myself. The Chef clearly finds toast a difficulty? So I queued up and put the toast in which burnt and returned to the eggs which had been left on the table getting cold. Maybe they could have done eggs actually on the toast as a gesture of customer service?! Generally the hotel is ok as long as you don’t expect more than a 2 or 3 star place and understand it is way more tired than the pictures would have you believe. Just make sure you ask for a modern room.
