Absolutely wonderful stay.

Pros: Everything !
Beautiful grounds and character building. The main restaurant food was exquisite. Excellent spa treatments. Every single member of staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Location and facilities so excellent that we are retuning in a few weeks for a longer stay.

Amazing spa retreat

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: Beautiful house, nice rooms, very good spa facilities, amazing restaurant
Cons: Restaurant prices were quite steep considering the overall cost of the stay, but the quality of the food was amazing.
Location: Conveniently close to Sittingbourn, but far enough away there was no traffic noise. We drove to Dover for the morning as it is only 40mins away
Beautiful house and gardens, well looked after. Spa was very well kept, nice and clean and felt very warm and friendly

Cosy corner of Kent

Posted 03-Feb-2017
Pros: Cleanliness and overall condition of the room and the hotel was impressive.
Cons: More biscuits required with the tea and coffee, make the rooms more fragrant, my room did have a funny smell.
Location: Just off the A2 so direct route to local places.
I was looking to book a hotel in the Sittingbourne area for a 2 night business stay, looked at staying at the local Premier Inn and noticed that the Hempstead House Hotel was only £6 more, so I decided to book that instead. On arrival the receptionist booked me in and showed me to my room. A lovely clean and bright room, with brocade style duvet cover and headboard, a television, tea and coffee making facilities and a beautifully clean ensuite with a bath and separate shower cubicle. The hotel is near the main road but you can't hear it with the windows closed. I had dinner in the brasserie that evening which was lovely as it overlooks the pool. The general ambience within the hotel is cosy along with the open fires in the reception area and the lounge. There are plenty of places to sit and read or chill out and the hotel is set in grounds that you can walk around and sit in if you wish when the weather is good. I didn't use the pool or spa facilities as didn't have time, but they too looked wonderful. As I was staying on my own, I felt welcomed on arrival and safe and secure here, I am due to stay again next week too, I hope that I have the same experience again, it will be interesting to see.

Pleasingly different

Posted 02-Feb-2017 on Hotels
Full of character and excellent staff. Choice of lounges to relax in rather than sit in your room. Reasonable gym, but lacking a rowing machine. Plenty of other kit though. Good pool, sauna and steam room. Limited menu choice in the bar, but OK for a night or 2. I'd go back which is always a plus point,

A great hotel and restaurant

Only rated local area as neutral as I arrived in the dark and left in the dark! Staff were excellent and friendly both at reception and in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast. Room was lovely, old-fashioned charm whilst clean and with everything you need. Restaurant was good value and high quality. All-in-all amazing value for money and a great night's sleep!

Lovely hotel but expensive for what it is.

Posted 06-Nov-2016
Location: Location is ok.
I stayed here Saturday night and booked a standard double room for 2 people through Expedia. I paid for it and all was very smooth running. Check in didn't take long and it was easy and pleasant. Pleasant staff. Upon checkout I'm handed a bill, which I'm surprised about. I ask why it said extra bed charge when it was just my partner and I and they said you booked for 1 person! I clearly booked for 2 people and they tried to charge an extra £40 just for 2 people to stay in a double room! The cost of £86 for a double room was for 1 person. I am not happy about this as I clearly booked it for 2 people. But to charge an extra £40 is ridiculous. Very overpriced for what it is if I'm honest but it's a beautiful hotel with nice rooms.
