The persons working the Front Desk were sadly lacking in minimal competence. It took 3 tries, over 2 days, to get into the room I had purchased, with keys that worked properly, A poor start for a holiday.

Hotel is extremely nice when it comes to the rooms, parking in abundance and friendly staff. The only problem I had was after arriving back home I realized that I forgot my charger plugged into the room. I called that evening and was told housekeeping will contact me the following day, no call came.
I called again the Sunday morning and was told they will let housekeeping call, no call from housekeeping. I then called again later the afternoon and was connected to the department and left a voice message, spoke to front desk again and she confirmed that messages was posted for housekeeping. Today is Monday the 28-09-2015 9:36am and still did not hear anything regarding my phone charger. The sad part about this is that I do have a local Sint Maarten cell number and it is not that they have to make an international call. I do know for a fact that the charger was left plugged into the socket next to the bed and just to get a call saying to come and collect it and have my brother pass to collect it is all I need to hear.
Besides this incident I must say that I will return to the hotel but will pay keen attention before leaving the hotel room.

We stayed for 8 days, loved the staff very friendly and funny! The beach is nice, but it's a bit more rough than other places on the island. You are right next to runway but planes stop at 10pm, so that wasn't a huge deal. Always felt safe, it was nice that they had securiy too. Whenever we had an issue it was fixed almost immediately! Only downfall was the toilet sometimes had to flush 2 or 3 times! I would stay again...we stayed in the King suite beachside, big ornate bed but watch your knees, shins and thighs....went home with quite a few bruises, since it sticks out further than you realize lol!

One bedroom unit was cramped. Shower soaked the floor of bathroom.
Penthouse unit was Beautiful. Three bedrooms, three baths with on suite bathrooms. Four balconies. Beach was inconvenient. Long walk or had to drive. Used it only once. Pool was nice but food selections poor. No other convenient restuarant.
Maid service was excellent.
I always stay here because is near my business. But this time swimming pool was closed for repairs, bar was closed, convince store was closed, undergoing constructions everywhere. But is the lowest month of the Island and they tend to do this before high season kicks off in October.
Everything about this stay was perfect. We had a room on the 5th floor with an amazing view. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a king size bed, small sitting area, large bathroom, and a beautiful terrace. The food was great- with so many options and places to eat. Nightly entertainment was good. The staff, specifically Eddie and Miguel at check-in and check-out helped with our luggage and brought us to/from the resort. Ray was helpful in booking our ATV excursion for us which we loved. Overall a great experience. We did not want to come home! Can't wait to return to Sonesta Ocean Point!
