A nice, well-located, and welcome place to stay.
The hotel was very well located, very close to El Escorial and a number of eating establishments. The service staff was friendly and efficient. The only thing that bothered me was the parking which was off-site and cost us $30 per day.

Wonderful helpful staff, suggested best restaurant down the street Kul4! Clean, easy taxi ride from train station. Beautiful surroundings walk to shops, hike up in mountains, cool fresh clean air.

Good or mediocre hotel: depends on the room
Last fall my wife and I stayed in a spacious room with a large bathroom with a large window. The four door-windows looked out on the stunning El Escorial monastery. One of our most beautiful hotel rooms ever. Two weeks ago I returned and got a small room with no view and a small, somewhat worn bathroom. It was January, rather cold, which I don’t mind, but the room was barely heated. Had to double up on blankets, which I never do. Also the walls between the rooms were thin, letting through all kinds of sounds. The closet had only four hangers and the door key lock constantly malfunctioned. The staff, if not particularly welcoming, was acceptably helpful.

Perfect for El Escorial
San Lorenzo is a lovely town, but people come for the El Escorial, and for this, the 'Florida' is perfect. It is right over the road and we had a view of it from our window (Room 19). From the moment Jose-Luis greeted us and arranged for us tp park right across the street for 2 days, we know we had chosen 'wisely'. The hotel is tired, but not in a way that effects a stay. Our room was great and even had a Jacussi bath, a view across the park to El Escorial and a comfortable bed. There are dozens of restaurants and bars nearby and I would highly recommend the 'Asedor el Rey', right next door. The 'Escoral' is fabulous too!

The Best at San Lorenzo de El Escorial
Couldn't be better. I was visiting family and had a family emergency that forced me to extend my stay and they couldn't be more accommodating, it being high season and all. They even upgraded my room so I would be more comfortable on my longer than planned stay. Rooms very clean and roomy bathrooms for European standards. Balcony faced the Monastery so I couldn't be more pleased. Nice breakfast. Beatriz at front desk made me feel at home, helping beyond her duties. Since I have to go back every couple of months now because of this family health problem I will definitely stay there.

Hotel is not up to the standards of comparable hotels and the worst that we stayed in of the 8 used on this trip. The person who checked us in had marginal command of English and the others at the desk varied between ok and none. It is the only front desk where some of the staff did not even acknowledge us. The associated restaurant staff spoke no English. The rooms run between minuscule, barely accessible to somewhat better, but the beds were terrible and not acceptable; they sagged in the middle.

Es un hotel muy antiguo, le hace falta una reforma. Las camas muy comodas y todo muy limpio pero muy antiguo y desgastado. El hotel huele mucho al asador que hay justo al lado. Yo creo que le sobra una estrella. La ubicacion es perfecta y el personal muy amable

La habitación era grande con baño amplio y cama enorme cosa que se agradece sin embargo pasé mucho calor durante la noche y me tuve que levantar varias veces para intentar refrescarme. No sé si era por la composición de la ropa de cama o el colchon, sólo tras ponerme una camiseta grande de algodón mejoró algo y la temperatra ambiental no era alta. Los apliques de luz justo encima de la cama te dan la luz en la cara y no puedes sentarte apoyado en el respaldo. El hotel está bien localizado.

muy bien, la habitación genial, super limpio, la cama grande e impecable, el baño en la superior: de lujo, las vistas frente al monasterio, céntrico, la amabilidad y competencia de la recepcionista. Magnífica relación calidad-precio. Solo una pequeña peda, que no es más que un comentario: el ambiente de la sala de desayuno podría mejorarse, aunque la atención del personal es buena

Lo mejor del hotel, la situacion, está en el centro de la ciudad, un buen punto para comer, salir a pasear, visitar, etc. está un poco antiguo pero bien conservado. hay un fuerte, demasado, olor a asado en la recepcion , la saldia de humos en esa zona no funciona muy bien, pero por lo demás no llega a las habitaciones, aunque nosotros estabamos en la tercera planta. la jr suite está bastante bien, buenas vistas, amplia y comoda, el desayuno muy bien tratado y muy amables.
