Dårlig service og kælderværelse

Posted 30-Oct-2015 on Hotels

Enjoyable stay

Very nice accommodations. Helpful staff. Uphill walk to town but there is a lot of parking on the town's perimeter.

Yes, you can rely on Ralais Santa Chiarra Hotel :)

My wife Mae and I stayed here last October 8 and 9 but it was a short overnight stay in this small town of San Gimignano and I found the hotel very refreshing. The time we arrived there at 3PM we knew we're in for a wonderful stay. Though most of time, we were out doing our sight-seeing and shopping, the room gave us a comfortable rest throughout the night. The receptionist in-charge the following day gave us a very warm service in preparing a very early breakfast because we were supposed to leave at 7 the ff. morning back to Rome. He really took time to offer us coffee, croissant with butter and some available cookies and yogurt. We would love to go back to this hotel in the near future but this time a bit longer to fully enjoy the hotel stay. By the way San Gimignano is a sight to behold, old town neighbouring stores and shops are good for hard to find souvenirs.

Posted 10-Oct-2015 on Hotels

Fantastic location

Posted 15-Sep-2015
Pros: Great pool, pleasant staff, and fantastic location.
Cons: More free parking
Location: Town only 10 minutes walk with plenty of shops, bars and an excellent range of restaurants. Easy reach of Florence, Siena, Chianti region, and Pisa.
Nice hotel with only short walk into town. Lovely pool area, great breakfast on terrace overlooking pool. Bedrooms smallish but very quiet at night. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Free car parking limited but not a problem for us. Great place to chill out and do very little, but also good base for visiting Tuscany sights.

Flott anlegg i hjertet av Toscana

Posted 15-Sep-2015 on Hotels
Små rom, men god standard.

Base for exploring Tuscany

Posted 13-Sep-2015
Pros: It is well-run, well located, very comfortable, charming, and the staff are extremely helpful.
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities and English speaking TV channels in the room. If there was any way to erradicate the biting insects in the grounds?
Location: San Gimignano is delightful, if busy during the day. Good for shops, dining, etc. Brilliant scenery in the old town and the surrounding countryside.
We picked the hotel for its location, just a 5 minute walk outside the walls of San Gimignano, and to allow us to visit the surrounding area, including Volterra, Siena, and the Tuscan wine villages like Greve, Radda and Montalcino, all of which are delightful. We would have liked to go slightly further afield, but most of the roads, whilst often providing beautiful views, are not much more than country lanes, and speed limits are low. It was very clean, linen was changed regularly through our week there. Breakfast was good although pretty restricted in that the only hot food was (very good) scrambled egg with occasional small amounts of sausage or bacon. the cold spread was excellent though, and drinks from the bar very fairly priced, whether pots of tea and coffee or beer, wine and cocktails. If I was being picky, I would say that the absence of tea and coffee facilities and availability of English speaking TV channels in the room was disappointing. Also, the charge
