This hotel was amazing, spotless everywhere. Food and drink to a very high standard. Only there for a short break. Plenty of bars and restaurants if you want to eat out (my husband hates been stuck in all inclusive resort so this suited him). The hotel is massive, we found a pool, bar and slides on our last day that we didnt know was there! This leads me to the only down side to the hotel, every thing is in German. The map of the resort all in German, food times etc all in German, letters put through our door all in German, do you get the picture. This would NOT put me off going to the hotel again, just be prepared for it. All the staff presume you are German aswell. Learn some German before you go. Theres also the Sunset hotel which you use 300yards away which has its own water park with 8 slides, brilliant if you have kids.
Should not be rated as a 5 star! Turkey tends to rate all of their hotels too high. The air conditioner in the room had no temperature control, so it was hot in our room at night. The food was good, but there restaurants were really bad; especially the Chinese.

Best thing is that it's Adults Only. We didn't realise how peaceful and relaxing the Alba Royal was until we joined the 'beach party' (which incidentally was great) held on one evening when all 3 Alba hotels in the area got together. It was only then, surrounded by children and their (mostly!) doting parents, that it occurred to us how peaceful the Royal was. Not that we don't like children - but ours are now 18 and 22, and if you don't have to listen to other peoples' children's screams, whining and crying why would you?
I believe the age criteria is 15 , so families with older children (but not quite adult) are not excluded but the pool isn't taken up with parents teaching their little ones to swim or bobbing around all day with babies in rubber rings. Equally, the all-inclusive dining was targeted at adults and there were no children picking food up and putting it back in the serving containers again as we have seen in other all-inclusive hotels that actively encourage children. All the food was excellent
THEY REALLY MUST SORT OUT THEIR INTERNET CONNECTION. We had no wi-fi (or internet) for the whole week we were there. Reception staff just said "tomorrow" or raised their eyebrows unhelpfully when asked when it might be back. This was one of the reasons we chose this hotel over others, so a really big disappointment particularly as a couple of us were waiting on email confirmation of jobs etc. It came back on the day we were leaving - too late for us.
"6/10 OVERALL...MIXED REVIEWS - MOST TRUEST REVIEW"
The apartments were modern and clean, they are ran like apartments and not a hotel. You are entitled to ONE free clean before the option of paying for it. Location wise; BEWARE OF BEING BRITISH...everyone in the area, hotel staff included are selective in who and how they help. Germans and Russians come before everyone else, Brits are second class. Q SPA staff are not helpful and there is no professionalism, all they see is ££££££..you ask them for something and they will either not do it or they will forget.
At one point, I was short to pay for a coke(50p), told them I'd pay later - one member of staff hounded me until I paid...
With the staff you have to come across more aggressive for them to listen otherwise they won't care, they take UK£ and Euros which means if you don't know what you're doing you will get ripped off for not paying in Lira.
The food was terrible at the Q Kitchen, the selection of food was even worse. They solely cater for Europeans, there was no sign of authentic Turkish food - I asked for an authentic Turkish fish sandwich and I got given a fish with bones.
Food wise, you will have to take extra money eat out in Side which is a 15 min taxi journey away.
Staff at the Q Beach again were just as unhelpful, they'd stop you entering with your own water (which I got from the shop at Q Spa) at 35 Celsius, meaning you have to buy water from there.
They'll bend over backwards for anyone who isn't British...simple as that.
Known best for its impressive ancient Roman ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, a magnificent Roman amphitheatre, and much more. In addition to historical relics, this popular resort town also offers long stretches of beach that extend from either direction of Side.
