Best thing is that it's Adults Only. We didn't realise how peaceful and relaxing the Alba Royal was until we joined the 'beach party' (which incidentally was great) held on one evening when all 3 Alba hotels in the area got together. It was only then, surrounded by children and their (mostly!) doting parents, that it occurred to us how peaceful the Royal was. Not that we don't like children - but ours are now 18 and 22, and if you don't have to listen to other peoples' children's screams, whining and crying why would you?
I believe the age criteria is 15 , so families with older children (but not quite adult) are not excluded but the pool isn't taken up with parents teaching their little ones to swim or bobbing around all day with babies in rubber rings. Equally, the all-inclusive dining was targeted at adults and there were no children picking food up and putting it back in the serving containers again as we have seen in other all-inclusive hotels that actively encourage children. All the food was excellent
THEY REALLY MUST SORT OUT THEIR INTERNET CONNECTION. We had no wi-fi (or internet) for the whole week we were there. Reception staff just said "tomorrow" or raised their eyebrows unhelpfully when asked when it might be back. This was one of the reasons we chose this hotel over others, so a really big disappointment particularly as a couple of us were waiting on email confirmation of jobs etc. It came back on the day we were leaving - too late for us.
Should not be rated as a 5 star! Turkey tends to rate all of their hotels too high. The air conditioner in the room had no temperature control, so it was hot in our room at night. The food was good, but there restaurants were really bad; especially the Chinese.

This deluxe resort with its special design, attention to detail and cultivated ambiance is set on a peninsula, offering …More
I booked a week here after a week in Istanbul, the stay at Von resort was pure and simple for the 10yr old to get some quality pool time in. So, booked on the basis of the water features on site. See below for good stuff.
Bad stuff: Check in was ok for us because we arrived very late, but we saw lots of others have really really awful experiences. Pregnant lady with a young child, over 2 hours stood/sat in reception because of the queue. Most the check in staff not very competent, you will see 4 or 5 on, and often 3 could be dealing with one guest which was frustrating to watch. Services: we moved out of the side rooms because getting basic things like room repairs, laundry pick up, minor queries simply did not get done. The staff just acknowledge your request on phone, and it's as if they ignore it. It took 3 calls during the day, and eventually i went to reception personally, just to get a laundry bag. Same experience with anything we needed in our room, you would have to really follow it up. We spent about 10 hours wasted waiting and following things up, in our 6 day trip. Enough for me to complain formally. Water park shuts at 5pm which really should be advertised before you book, especially if you are booking for kids on the basis of the waterpark. Paying for internet in rooms is a waste of money. Paid, could never get it. Don't use laundry service, we did one load of washing, bill of around 50 Euros. I'm still in shock. Very little English spoken, which is surprising.
Very pleased with this hotel. Very clean, good facilities, and very helpful staff.
The food was varied and there was always plenty of choice.
Waiters and bar staff always on hand.
Would recommend and return.
Known best for its impressive ancient Roman ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, a magnificent Roman amphitheatre, and much more. In addition to historical relics, this popular resort town also offers long stretches of beach that extend from either direction of Side.
