1) Terrible service, stayed for 9 nights through Christmas and New Year, service staff were pompous and even scolded us for returning their bike late (I. E. Because we lost our way) in front of other guests and threaten us with late charges, they could have said it in a nicer tone. Other staffs were also dismissive and could be seen talking to one another and laughing. Worst way to have spent honeymoon, Christmas and new year. On top of that, due to holiday season we paid twice the usual room rate.
2) The number 4 and 13 are big taboo in our culture, but the service staff place us in room 13 on the 4th floor. Which is situated right at the corner at the back of the hotel.
On top of that, the Feng shui of the room is very bad, the bed is facing the door, mirror and toilet. In addition, the window is behind the bed.
3) We got lost on new year's eve and could not get back to the hotel, so we spent a night somewhere else. We sent a message to the hotel to inform them about it just in case anything happen to us, they reply us 3 days later after we have checkout.
4) It is not a convenient location. It takes at least 10 minutes to walk to the nearest train station and 2 stops away from Kyoto station. It is also not a very centralised location to travel to other Kansai region. Better to stay nearer to Kyoto station. Not worth the money paid.
