Not what I expected
There was a lingering cigarette smell though there was a sign that indicated No Smoking. Bed linens have a stale smell. Bathroom was big but super cold. Bath towels were so thin and frayed at the edges… should consider to provider fresh clean linens. Location is good but noisy.

Great Location near Shilin night market. A lot of restaurants near by as well as convenient store like 7-11 and family mart. Public transportation is not far from hotel as well. Hotel staff was extremely helpful toward my mom's stay there. Highly recommended.

Hotel staff was excellent in taking care of my mom needs prior to arrival when I contacted them. During her stay at hotel the staff went above and beyond in assisting with her questions. I highly appreciate their effort in helping an elderly staying at their hotel. Well located area. Highly recommended. Thank you again to the hotel staff.

Location: it is close enough to the MRT, Shin Lin night market and local eats, while being far enough to be "not too city busy". While this worked for us, please keep in mind it is about a 10-15 min walk away from the MRT station. Staff are friendly and helpful, we had booked a taxi to the airport the day before and they were accommodating of the last minute request. Breakfast was included in our booking, food was delicious and it is a mix of Asian congee, toast , cereal (standard). Space for seating is limited, so if you do go during "peak" times, be prepared to wait or share a table. Room and washrooms were clean and presentable. We traveled with a infant and they provided a crib upon request. We would book again in the future.

Room is clean, bed comfortable, helpful staff, breakfast is good, quiet and safe area, location is quite convenient about 15 mins walking distance to Jiantan station and Shilin night market. It’s about 6 stations to the XinBeitou hot springs area. Will stay here again on our next trip to Taipei. Going to city is not a problem as metro is very easy and convenient.

Love the location next to night market and train station. Nice park next door. Great buffet breakfast. Staff not all conversant with English and food this trip at breakfast not as superb as last visit but plan to return again and again.

The buffet breakfast was as good as it was the first time I stayed there. Location is excellent next to a park and walking distance to train station, night market and short ride to hospital. Staff are friendly but seem shy for English speakers.

Old hotel not up to Standard.
This is an old and tired hotel. Very little in our room resembled the photos of this hotel online. Cleanliness of the room was well below acceptable. We stayed for 3 nights and the bed was not made in that time. The floor was not vacuumed in that time either. There were long black hair throughout the bathroom and neither of us have long or black hair. The couch was very badly stained and we had to cover it with a towel. There was only half a toilet roll in the bathroom when we arrived an had to resort to tissues until it was replaced. We paid for late checkout (extra 6 hours) which was approx. 70% of the full rate. Breakfast was not up to western standards and may only suit someone from Asia. This hotel is nowhere near the standard you would find in Bangkok or Hong Kong at a comparable price.

Very good location. Room is reasonable but could improve , e.g. supposed to have 3 single beds.. turn out 1 was a sofa bed though my booking is triple room business. And some toiletries like toothbrush only 2 sets and cups also... cups were not even washed by housekeeping.

Nice hotel 8 mins walk from/to Jiantan Mrt stn
I booked the triple business room with 1 double and single bed but they upgraded us to 2 double beds. This hotel is close to bus stations and Jiantan Mrt station which give us easy access to our destinations.

Recommended hotel near Shilin Market
This is a nice hotel with the convenient of transportation, shops and restaurants. Staff are friendly and most of all very helpful as we have left something in the hotel and they made an effort to send it back to us. Hotel is clean and breakfast is nice with good selection of Chinese and European food. Hotel is walking distance to the famous Shilin Night Market. Would recommend stay in this hotel.

Good facilities and location
The hotel furnishings may seem old but the room is clean and spacious. The Jacuzzi bathtub was a nice surprise although the instructions were in Chinese only. Breakfast was a good variety of Western and Chinese cuisine. The location is very good, being close to Jiantan MRT and within walking distance to Shilin night market. There are several convenience stores and eateries nearby also. The hotel staff are polite and helpful.

We chose this place cuz it was near the Shilin Night Market, and yah, it's reasonably close. I think it was like a 15 minute walk. Close to metro (10 min walk) and close to bus stops that go to Yangminshan. The place itself has a nicely air conditioned lobby, which we appreciated when we arrived from walking in the heat. We booked a triple, and it was basically the double bed in the room w/ a portable single bed. I didn't try the single bed, but it looked uncomfortable. Also w/ the single bed, the room was much more crammed. Bathroom was okay. Some outdated furniture, but not an issue in terms of functionality and cleaniness. No breakfast on site.

Overall ok.
The rooms felt a little bit crammed. Majority of the bathroom was cleaned; however, I did find an used disposable contact lens on the floor. This place didn't have enough outlets for all the gadgets we needed to charge for our travels. It was nice that they provided water everyday and also some snacks.

Overall we are comfortable with the rooms and location. Only thing is that the toilet is using sensor for the lighting. My friends who are bathing halfway and the light went off. They have to actually come out from the toilet to tap on the switch again to on the light.
